Wolff: Maybe our question to the FIA triggered something..

Article To news overview © Mercedes Toto Wolff has explained that a pit stop query that Mercedes raised with the FIA might have triggered a sequence of events that led to the Technical Directive that is set to slow down pit stops. Speaking to media on Friday at the Red Bull Ring, Wolff said that Mercedes had a query about pit stops that they brought to the FIA's attention a few weeks ago. "On the pit stop, we enquired with the FIA on a safety mechanism which is related to a system that we were using, and whether that could be optimised,"Wolff told media, including RacingNews365. "And that happened, I would say, three or four weeks ago, and it was a technology question....
