F1 will clampdown if teams ‘compromise' 2022 aims

F1 is open to tweaking the 2022 regulations if, having given the teams a bit more performance leeway, their innovations go against the 'aim' of the new rules. Next season Formula 1 will be racing in all-new cars, the sport move towards ground-effect aerodynamics. The changes are intended to make it easier for the cars to follow, and therefore – and hopefully – easier to pass making for better racing. A model of the new car was unveiled on the Silverstone pit straight on Thursday with all 20 drivers on hand to see it.
