Red Bull close to hiring another Mercedes chief for engine project

It looks like Red Bull Racing has landed another big name for its Powertrains department. GPBlog.com has received the rumour that Owen Jones is about to join the team. Jones is one of Mercedes' top men and so Red Bull is dealing another blow. Jones wouldn't be the first to make the switch from Mercedes to Red Bull Powertrains. The likes of Ben Hodgkinson, Steve Blewett, Pip Clode, Anton Mayo, Steve Brodie and Omid Mostaghimi were brought in earlier this year, so the Milton Keynes-based team is taking shape.
