Sainz crashes hard at Monza and causes red flag

Carlos Sainz has suffered a serious crash after just under half an hour in the final free practice session before Saturday afternoon's sprint race. The Ferrari driver slammed his car hard into the wall at Ascari. It caused a red flag to be shown and the session stopped. Sainz said over the on-board radio that he was fine, but seemed to climb out of his Ferrari with some difficulty. In any case, the damage to the chassis is extensive.
