Alonso cleared by stewards, will start P5 in Turkey

Fernando Alonso will start the Turkish GP from fifth on the grid after a stewards' investigation cleared him of a yellow flag infringement. The Spaniard was sixth fastest in Saturday's qualifying at the Istanbul Park circuit, promoted to P5 on the grid as a result of Lewis Hamilton's engine penalty. Alonso's P5, though, was thrown into doubt after qualifying when he was called to the stewards for an alleged yellow flag infringement. Taking to the track in Q1, the Spaniard came across yellow flags at Turn 1 on his very first flying lap.
