Vice-President of Porsche takes a step back: 'More electrification needed'

Since the news came out that Andretti will probably not take over Alfa Romeo Sauber, there has been a lot of talk about Porsche and Audi. Thomas Laudenbach, the new vice president of Porsche Motorsport, has indicated that Porsche would like to play a role in Formula 1. The Volkswagen Group, owner of Porsche and Audi, recently took part in talks with the FIA and Formula One manufacturers to see if they could possibly play a role in the sport in 2026. The talks are still ongoing, but now there are some initial positive reports from the Vice President.
