Mercedes suffered a major setback in Mexico. Although things looked good after qualifying with both drivers on the front row of the grid, in the race the team had to acknowledge their superiority to Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. Everything can still happen Verstappen won the Mexican Grand Prix in dominant fashion, with teammate Sergio Perez in third place. Lewis Hamilton finished second, scoring the only points for his team. Bottas finished fifteenth after a spin in the first corner and a slow pit stop.
