Albon: Barcelona familiarity will help cushion FP1 absence

Alex Albon said that his familiarity with the Barcelona circuit will make up for him missing FP1 after Nyck de Vries' drive was confirmed. Williams announced on Monday that Albon would be having Friday morning off with de Vries coming in to replace him in line with a new F1 directive. From this season, teams must now run a driver with no more than two grands prix of experience during FP1 at two rounds during the campaign. Williams are the first team to do so and the Dutch driver will be making his first appearance on track during a Formula 1 weekend.
