Stewards hand down verdict on Alonso/Hamilton incident
Article To news overview © Michael Potts / RacingNews365 Fernando Alonso has escaped with a reprimand after being investigated for impeding Lewis Hamilton during first practice for the Spanish Grand Prix. Alonso was found guily of blocking Hamilton at Turn 12 in Friday's first session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, landing him his first reprimand of the season. "The stewards reviewed video evidence and determined that the driver of car 14 was driving slowly on the racing line between Turn 12 and Turn 13 and unnecessarily impeded car 44, requiring car 44 to take avoiding action," read the stewards' explanation.
