FP2: Sainz tops afternoon practice, Hamilton impresses with second place at Silverstone
F1 Grand Prix, GP United Kingdom, Silverstone Circuit Ferrari's Carlos Sainz set the benchmark in the second practice for the British Grand Prix, followed by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who demonstrated the potential of the extensive upgrade package his Merceds team brought to Silverstone. Following the wet opening practice, the second session took place in much better conditions. Drivers did not hesitate to make the best out of the improved weather conditions, trying to notch up many laps in order to find out the best setup for the true power circuit of Silverstoe.
