F1 standings: Verstappen's lead takes a hit and Sainz makes gains

Article To news overview © XPB Max Verstappen has seen his lead in the World Championship standings take a hit after a difficult British Grand Prix for the Dutchman. Verstappen finished the race down in P7 after struggling with damage to his car, meaning that he was only able to add six points to his tally, bringing his total to 181 points. Teammate Sergio Perez, meanwhile, ended the day in second, and as such he has boosted his points to 147 points. That has cut Verstappen's lead down to 34 points.
