Here's why Mick Schumacher was tipped to replace Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso has surprised the entire Formula 1 world, after announcing that he will be replacing Sebastian Vettel at the Aston Martin F1 Team. Vettel announced prior to the Hungarian Grand Prix that he would be retiring from F1 at the end of the season, leaving a seat at the British team alongside Lance Stroll. Whilst Alonso had been linked with the team before, he wasn't one of the rumoured candidates to replace the four-time World Champion. It appeared certain that it would be Mick Schumacher who would take his ‘mentor's' seat, with Ralf Schumacher believing that his nephew would be the first driver the team would look at.
