Otmar Szafnauer thinks Oscar Piastri will drive for Alpine in 2023 despite dispute

Alpine team principal, Otmar Szafnauer, has questioned Oscar Piastri’s “integrity” amid the Australian’s rebellion against the team. Piastri is currently serving as test and reserve driver to Alpine having won the Formula 2 championship in 2021 as part of their junior programme. The French side have been endeavouring to find him a loan deal for next season, but they did not want to put him straight into their car next year, as they still wanted to offer Fernando Alonso a new deal. However, the Spaniard was not happy with the contract length or the fact that the Enstone-based team were holding off due to concerns that they might not find a seat for Piastri.
