Verstappen and Leclerc on verge of grid penalties for second half of season
Article To news overview © XPBimages When the 2022 F1 season resumes after the summer break, several drivers will find themselves at risk of a penalty. Under the sport's regulations, drivers can receive grid penalties when they exceed the limit of allocated engine parts per campaign. The amount given to each driver per season is as follows: Internal Combustion Engine (ICE): max three Turbo Charger (TC): max three MGU-H: max three MGU-K: max three Energy Store (ES): max two Control electronics (CE): max two Exhaust (EX): max eight This means that a driver can use the above amount of parts without punishment, but will be hit with a grid penalty should they go beyond the limit.
