Alfa Romeo share how their key early-season advantage has disappeared

Article To news overview © Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo have lost their early-season Formula 1 weight advantage as other teams have brought aerodynamic upgrades, according to Head of Trackside Engineering Xevi Pujolar. New technical regulations for 2022 increased the weight of the cars to just under 800kg, with Alfa Romeo believed to be the only team to have hit the ideal target of 798kg at the beginning of the season. This allowed drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Gaunyu to bank early strong points, with fifth at Imola for the former the squad's best return.
