F2 boss stands firm on rule against champions returning

Article To news overview © XPBimages Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel has refuted Felipe Drugovich's suggestion that F2 champions should be permitted to continue in the series. At the previous race meeting at Monza, Drugovich secured the Formula 2 Drivers' Championship with three rounds to spare. However, after appearing to be out of the running for an F1 seat, he has signed a contract to be Aston Martin's reserve driver for 2023. This could restrict his racing activities for next season, and F2 rules dictate that any driver who has won the championship is not permitted to compete in the sport for two years. Drugovich took issue with the rule and suggested that this regulation should be waived...
