FIA doubles sprint race budget in cost cap for 2023 and 2024
The FIA has confirmed that as many as six sprint races will take place in 2023. Formula 1 teams can also count on an increase in the budget cap as a result, as sprint races cause extra wear and tear and a higher risk of incidents. Article continues under ad On Wednesday, the World Motor Sport Council approved several changes for the new season. These include doubling the number of sprint races to include Azerbaijan, Belgium, Qatar, the United States, Brazil and Austria. However, doubling the sprint races means that teams may have to deal with extra crashes. Engine parts will also suffer more wear and tear because of the extra races.
