Veekay eliminated at Daytona after teammate crashes

Dutch IndyCar driver Rinus 'Veekay' van Kalmthout raced at the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend. Unfortunately for him, his participation ended a few hours ago after his teammate crashed. Article continues under ad Veekay was driving with Steven Thomas at TDS Racing in the LMP2 class. The American crashed his car into the wall after overlooking another car in the dark. He had to return to the garage and due to the accumulated backlog, the team decided not to rejoin the race. Veekay tweeted that he will now cheer on his teammates in the other car.
