Video To news overview It is not uncommon to hear drivers being reminded to "drink" by their engineer over team radio in Formula 1. While this is not a game being played to pass time before the next overtake or pit-stop, it is a vital piece of information to ensure that the drivers stay hydrated during the race. This is due to the amount of fluids – and subsequently weight – they can lose during a race, which can be anywhere between 2 and 3.5 kilograms.
