He reminds of Kubica - he outdrives EVERY car he is driving, putting it 4-5 places above where it belongs. He not only wins with teammates - he leaves them FAR behind. He is smart, setting up every pass at least a lap earlier, and he plans every move ahead. He rarely makes any mistakes. It's easy to win when your car is a second faster than the rest, but fighting in the top 5 when your car really belongs in the bottom 10 is a sign of greatness. put Max and Alonso in the same car, and Alonso wins 6 times out of 10.

What about Verstappen and Hamilton. I think his feedback is not really up to their par.. the car always degenerates... backwards. He also wins against teammates because of his political nature. Yes, he does rarely make mistakes, but you can say that of Verstappen too.. and Hamilton

The thread has been moved from a racing section. Its purpose is, as the heading suggests, let you express on these pages what's on your mind (big thanks to Wes for allowing it).

I have to thank everyone who has contributed in positive manner to earlier thread, and I have to apologies for not being able to transfer all posts. For the record, posts aren't deleted, just out of the way, so we stop adding to it. This was another thing, I could not "freeze it", but that's OK. We can carry on happily in here.

I have to also thank to my partner Brad (a gentle fellow).

    Good Idea. Thank You Sakae

  3. Hey all, My name's Andy and I'm new to the forum.

Living in London, probably not for too much longer however.

Have been following F1 religiously since the 2000 season, Was always a Schumacher fan boy and now I'm a Vettel fan boy (and no, I'm not in the least bit German - Ironically, I'm actually half Polish)

Unfortunately, I now work most sundays so I don't get to watch too many of the races live, or volunteer as a marshal (have only found the time to do one race so far) :-(

YAY, another Vettel fan, what is going on these days???

    Welcome Andy!

  4. Thanks for the welcome guys smile.png

Yes, I am a woman, at least I was last time I looked wink.png Quiet One I do sort of like Kimi but he's never been my favourite, I like Vettel more. Yes he has his faults, they all do but at least he's honest about why he's racing the way he is. I used to like Alonso but I can't support a driver I don't respect and after the whole Singapore crashgate episode I went right off him the day he stood and looked straight down the camera saying he had no idea what had happened when we all know he did.

Ah, a woman after my own heart!!!

And for that you get a lovely lovely, which in Brad's book mean...lovely stuff...or something like that

*hope my wife don't get to read this post

  5. Off the top of my head, we don't hear much from:

    Mike

    John

    Ankit

    Graham

    Eli

    Ben

    Jem

    Danny

    Eduardo

    Nathan

    Jez

And others who were gone before you left (like ykick, Player, Shane, etc).

Quite a few others still show up, just not very frequently. Others from our past appear to be always reading and never posting. People leaving is inevitable. New members joining doesn't seem to be, though. laugh.png

Could'nt think of one.... eish, the memory problem I thought I have appear even worse!

  6. Idealistically, yes. Because in this case we are talking about a driver's championship. To be worthy one should grab it with both hands even if it means a risky maneuver. Where teams should be concerned is with the constructors championship. Let the teammates sort it between themselves when it comes to the drivers championship.

Realistically I would be naive to think that that would happen, but it still is my position on the issue

perfectly acceptable I think, you're like me in a way.

  7. I don't dislike the team. I was happy for them when they won the last race. I just find it hard to justify support for a team that would deprive their own driver from a hard earned result just so their teammate gets ahead in the standings.

I mean if the guy wants to win the championship, then they certainly better be the one that is ahead, right

When someone wins in F1 we say Jenson wins, Perez wins etc. Not necessarily Ferrari, Macca etc.

Some have the idea that other teams use team orders albeit in an indirect way, classic example when Jenson was told to save fuel with Hammie in the lead. In that case Hamilton was ahead.

I watch F1 for the spectacle and the personal triumph of one person taking their machinery to the limit and back. I prefer that aspect unblemished

I think you're gonna enjoy being around here, lot's of members with that passion around...

  8. Hello TF1 Forum!

I have actually been reading this forum as a guest for 2 years now. My excuse is i really wanted to get to know people a little better before I join in the discussion, since all of you seem like a tight knit group.

I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Just to make it easier for you let me declare:

Likes: McLaren, Senna, Button, Defunct Peugeot LMP team (Looking forward to HPD this year though), Spa-Franc GP, Technical discussions

Dislikes: Team orders, too much agreement

So, fire away. Looking forward to get into some heated debate

    Welcome Shadow...

I assume you dislike Ferrari???...based on the team order thing

  9. To be honest, I don't really have a favourite team. I'm pretty neutral. It's difficult not to admire Red Bull, though. I'm studying in Preston, UK - but I'm originally from a town near Sheffield.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Hey James... just keep loitering and welcome to the forums :)

  10. Hi guys I am Robbie I am 21 and I am the biggest F1 fan you can imagine. I have a pretty good knowledge (in my opinion) of F1 and love researching the history. I am hoping to meet people for a chat and abit of banter.

Thanks and I look forward to chatting to you all.

Heita da Robbie D.... welcome welcome...

  11. Ok, so the thought crossed my mind that, maybe, after writing here every now and then for the last three years, it might be nice to introduce myself as well.

I'm a Finn, couple of years past 30, theoretical physicist by profession and have been living in Vienna for the past couple of years. I'm married to an American whose knowledge of F1 is restricted to "Ugh, you're watching that damned NASCAR racing again!" -comments every other Sunday ;) We got a couple of dogs; Yoda, a very smart border collie-black lab mix who is just as eager fan of racing as I am (though mostly of racing cats, mice, motorcycles and the like) and a tiny yorkie called Avery, who is too young to have made up his mind about what kind of racing he prefers. Presently, he is trying everything out. Yoda, who we got when we lived in Canada, is a Villeneuve fan, while Avery follows closely everything Red Bull related. On my avatar you can see our hamster Nietzsche, who sadly passed away just a couple of weeks ago :(. As far as my biases go, I'm a big Kimi fan but, as a racing series, F1 comes first, and of the present line-up, I like Lewis' style and Heikki's spirit the most.

well Ikyrotz, I've always enjoyed your posts and the insights you always have about Kimi's whereabouts :D

  12. Hey chick. I like you already.

Well. The main culprits to target are quiet one (Andres- he's bald), max mosley (graham - he's posh), BradSpeedMan (brad - he's a kimi fan) and dribbler (Steve -where do i start, he's a crossdressing sex maniac who wields to the name flower princess and has a penchant for chewing his toenails and keeping the clippings under his pillows, oh and he's a bad singer too.) ;) watch out for Argento and LabradoRacer and Schumikonen who are all perverted dirty old men. :P and Persevere (david) is the worst of the lot. He keeps sheep in his shed. They make funny noises at night. The camera never lies, Davey. Sheep have rights too.

Thanks for introducing us Steph, now I think she'll be rather impressed with David :naughty:

  13. I'm really concerned about angie's strange fascination with Wez, I mean, does she really know what she's getting into. :naughty: He returns after a long absense and steals the Quiet One's thunder. This is not on! It's time I show her some pics of his notorious wild nights around Sandton City, I've been looking to bribe him with these, but Angie's case is more for a moral cause. It's enough that they're both fans of the donkey driver !!!!!!!!
