'Armchair activism' is great LR. Admittedly I only watched the video today, I can see why it caught on. Very slick. Plays on any decent person's basic human emotions very nicely. Glad I read a bit about it first.

posters actually makes a difference. in that sense I think the internet tricks us into thinking we've made a difference, when really we've done nothing meaningful at all to help the issue, which is surely worse than the original situation of not knowing. You can pat yourself on the back and move on, when realistically you did nothing to help. anyway.. I could go on but won't!

My thoughts exactly. + it annoys me how few people bothered to look past the video, and how naive their response is. I was trying to think about what the reaction means. Seems like social networks have great power to raise awareness but hardly anyone seems to want informed awareness; they'd prefer to simplify a complex problem by focussing on one guy. It's comforting to think evil, corruption etc has one face, I guess. also comforting to think making a few statuses or putting up poste...
