  1. Date 2020.12.31 Time 15:22 (UTC) As this year-end is closing on us, one seat at MB remains open. Sounds like Russell has done some damage with his proxy drive.
  2. With Brexit I was hoping they will take F1 with them, and I will not ever hear from them again. Well it was just wasted dream of mine.
  3. I thought MB should have transferred business from UK, but now it is clear they are doing something else (and probably smarter solution). They are offloading burden of it into British hands. MB - INEOS - Wolff = equal partnership. I do expect this development as start of downturn for the team's performance.
  4. Date 2020.12.11 Time 19:21 (UTC) It seems that Vettel is not alone who needs (or wants) car setup "certain" way, as opposed to claims by self-appointed experts on sidelines, that good driver ("REAL RACER") will drive and win in anything. Hamilton found his car in setup Russell left it. He ended up consequently in P5 and 2 respectively in today's practices, and this is what he said at the end: Yes, a driver has to be one with a car ("comfortable"). So, Vettel has a soulmate on that account.
  6. I take a different view on this discussion. Nothing to prove..? I do recognise him for 1 WDC title, and that's it. (McLaren.) I would say he has plenty to prove if we want to see him winning titles in more or less car of similar strength his rivals drive. MB is not that car. Not today, and not since 2013. Give him RBR and we will see what he can do. I do allow for possibility he would win with that car a title or two, maybe more, but I am not that sure he would have as many he is boasting today. I am not advocating total and comprehensive performance congruence (I don't want IRL), just I wish MB should be closer in performance to others. Switching teams and winning with other brands or series to me dosen't mean anything, and it will not erase travesty of past 6 years. Wolff after 2014 should have allowed for change of rules, and let others to work on and correct their mistakes in lieu of wallowing in victories of dubious value with his poster boy. All rivals were crippled in some way, and they consequently lost all battles. That is supposed to mean something to celebrate? When Schumacher was winning, McLaren was just as good of a car. Williams was maybe even a better car on many tracks. Teams could improve a car relatively quickly. Victory was never certain, and almost always earned. That was The F1 I've respected, and this guy has audacity to compare himself to that era?
  7. Hamilton has say about who his teammate is in 2021 despite not having contract with MB? May I recommend reading all reader's comments below? Opinion forces in the play (more of clash).
  8. Regardless of our individual believe system, he has proven The Emperor has no clothes.
  9. Both, Wolff and Hamilton should leave in disgrace or otherwise, I don't care. Now, and for good. If I don't hear about them ever again, I am fine with it. Yes, after Bahrain I feel cheated all those years. What a sham.
  10. Well, tell him to get lost, and there is no problem.
  11. I was wrong in the previous post with my guess that Russell is 1/3 less expensive than LH. Following headline will put this story straight. Not Bottas, Hamilton has to leave with his excessive self-entitlement, and literally blackmailing (wants 50MM) whilst everyone else has to tighten the belt. Beats me for what? He can ask around which other team will hire him when now we have confirmation what's behind all those victories. Russell will do, and after Bottas' contract matures, get someone else, please.
  12. Hamilton will be retested several times by F1 and host countries before this all ends this year. Based on test positives, it may happen in such case Russell will be called back and take #44 seat as a substitute again. (Says Wolff.)
  13. There are forces in media who are pushing for all English drivers only at Mercedes. I find it disgusting. Last 6 years is not enough for them? Greed is just overwhelming with stench. I wish MB should wake up and see what they are doing. May I suggest a few changes? Replace Hamilton with Russell next year. If I don't hear about, or from him for rest of my life, I am fine with that. Russell will do the same and for 1/3 of cost. After Bottas contract expires, hire a German driver (for change). Come home MB (for change).
  14. That pit stop = Embarrassment + Financial penalty. (for MB). I am somehow in doubt it was conspiracy, especially with Wolff part of it. Reason is in plain view; if Stuttgart would get hold of it, Wolff's career with MB would be over with immediate effect. I guarantee you that much. Wolff would never allow such complex scheme. Confusion and sleeping on the switch by crew was more likely behind the incident.
  15. Date 2020.12.07 Time 12:29 (UTC) ...says UK writer, to which I say, overpriced and overrated Hamilton must be immediately replaced by Perez who can partner Russell or some other hopefuls (Hulk, or Vettel, and a few others). Enough is enough. Yes, that's what I think. Hamilton has enough of stuff. Let someone else to have his seat. Contract is not there, so no problem to show him a door.
  16. Hmmm, Ok. I didn't think you would.
  17. If someone would ask you to prove it, would you be able to do so? This is merely a rhetorical question, don't panic. I am not planning to embarrass you asking you to elaborate.
  18. To clarify, I've not accused Merc from cheating. My intent was to document confirmation of long standing rumor, that MB had massive jump in hybrid research in comparison with others, especially Honda. BE was aware of it, and he was the one behind those rumors dating back a few years. Token system and some other regulatory stuff, enough said. I really wonder whose disgraceful idea was that. Having on hand track results of 2014, I am not sure what it says about general wisdom of RD at McLaren, and I would include Alonso, what they were thinking when they must have realized hight of the wall they had to climb. (...or did they realized it?)
  19. Date 2020.11.13 Time 20:46 (UTC) Press conference It was impressive that Honda, despite being keenly aware of the gap they had to overcome, they did not back off. I am short of words to express my admiration for them. Based on above admission, it is also very likely that MB was in conceptual planing stage at least in 2009, if not earlier. With others, in early meetings with FiA, I bet MB was already ahead (of course by 0,5 sec LOL).
  20. There is no a job for him at AM. One should not forget that he was a point away to lead whole F1, hadn't been Ferrari in his way. Between that job and TP at tiny organization like AM would be like demotion. (CEO at AM is a new German guy).
  21. Date 2020.11.10 Time 10:47 (UTC) Good. They should pull Andreas Seidl in a put him in training to replace Torger.
  22. Date 2020.11.04 Time 8:22 (UTC) OneStopStrategy: Oh that's good news we need right now. I am "hoping" FiA with Brawn will find even more ways how to put brakes on corrective work rivals need to close a gap.
  23. Date 2020.10.07 Time 6:12 (UTC) Perceptive, as always. Unfortunately F1 is not a rich target for daily news, and far too many individuals are trying to make living on sidelines of the sport, and running out of topics to write about. Jordan is however not one of them. He is well off, and can write when there is a reason for it. I thought we have already too many speculative articles on the internet, and therefore people like Jordan could choose voicing his opinion more carefully, avoiding ambiguity of misleading headlines. He apparently (as I understand it) insisted on the story-line about the MB team being on the market for sale, despite MB' denial. The revelation by the German automaker suggests, this decision is result of long internal marketing analytical process ending with shareholders voting to allocate funds for next CA period. This is not something which was decided over night. Anything Jordan heard was therefore not very credible, and consequently perhaps not helpful to his credibility as well.
  24. Date 2020.10.06 Time 18:05 (UTC) Mercedes F1 team set for greater AMG branding Sounds like a plan, and puts BE in error when he discarded F1 technology as irrelevant to road cars. Interesting turn of events, and decisive move. Differential thinking from Honda. I am not sure where E. Jordan got his secret news that MB is selling their F1 business, but maybe he needs more credible sources. This guy is rich, yet he still needs to live on rumors. I was also among those who thought already early this year, that they will pull out, but looks like they had found new life line in spreading the word - AMG is here, AMG is to stay, get used to it! So, I will.
  25. The truth always comes up. You just have to wait for it.
