    Ferrari 2021

Date 2020.09.17 Time 9:05 (UTC) Binotto looking to use Schumacher-era lessons to rebuild Ferrari Is Mattia Binotto then seeking advise from Jean Todt? What has taken so long would be my first question, and second issue is of course the obvious one - LeClerc is not Schumacher with all due respect. Michael already had couple of scalps attached to his waist when he signed for Ferrari. How many LeClerc has? Michael was a car mechanic and used to work with others up to 3 am on the car, understood what car is and can be. Conditions are not the same today. Ferrari had Fernando Alonso on payroll, who was promoted as almighty in racing. How many WDC he has achieved at Ferrari in a car which catered to his every whim? Looks like you can win, but copying lessons of the past may not really be all what's needed. Rule book is different, and best what you can do is to do some innovations on your own with bright brains around you. Choices are limited, as testing is limited, and at some point someone has to take responsibility for narrowing options to one, and live with consequences. Everybody among brightest should get at least one chance and can make a mistake. I fear however yours is now past, and chances were multiple. Sorry.
  2. What's with this Aston Martin on RB? This is Honda's team. Period.
  3. Drivers: Max Verstappen Sergio Perez
  4. Team: Renault DP World F1 Team Base: Enstone, United Kingdom Team Chief: Cyril Francois Roger Abiteboul Power Unit: Renault Drivers: Esteban Ocon Daniel Ricciardo Renault
  5. Frédéric Vasseur is one of a few fair and honest to boot individuals in the paddock. I've never seen him engaging in compromising rhetoric, shady deals, or whatever. Kimi was that way more lucky than Seb, and I am happy for him.
  6. Date 2020.09.16 Time 14:47 (UTC) Vasseur: Kimi’s our first choice for 2021 Good.
  7. Haas with their philosophy is lower end midfield, and any driver would break their teeth trying to pull the rope for them. I wonder if ever Gro had actually received a fair chance in this series when he was trying to establish his way in racing. Media unfortunately created a lot of hateful rhetoric around him, doubtfully fair or accurate. They have done it to more non-British drivers, yet Brawn is telling us today, how false perception that was. Too little, too late, Sir.
  8. I seems to remember a few years back that he was first TP whom I heard stated in public that complexity of the job is not a workload for one person, and do so well.
  9. Date 2020.09.16 Time 7:37 (UTC) As of this day, driver line up for next year remains unconfirmed. F1 ever interfering media decided there has to be change. I for one think UK is far too much overrepresented, and not for the best for this sport. We need French and Danish involvement IMO.
  10. Date 2020.09.16 Time 7:05 (UTC) Indication Mr. Wolff might stay with MB after all. A capable man.
  11. In my thoughts when the moment comes, I am still calling it Sauber. Probably nostalgia. It might not be correct, but it is self-pleasing.
  12. Team: Alfa Romeo Base: Hinwil, Switzerland Team Chief: Frédéric Vasseur Power unit: Ferrari Drivers: Kimi Räikkönen Antonio Giovinazzi
  13. Date 2020.09.14 Time 10:07 (UTC) by James Clifford: Mr. E. Jordan seems to be mistaken (most likely again, as a few times in the past).
  14. Joking aside, whilst I was suspecting the same for some time, Alonso actually spilt the milk and confirmed, that several races were planned just testing sessions. I was quite surprised there was no FiA investigation of the incident with potential charges for not participating in races pursuant to contractual commitments. Probably hard to prove it. Ferrari should be doing the same. (Maybe they do; I have no other explanation of their performance).

I wonder if an active Ferrari driver is legally permitted to discuss with his targeted destination team car design for next year. On the other hand, getting lift going from point A to point B and discussing in a car a few critical points - who would ever know?

An old adage in business life states, that sometimes a change for a sake of change could be helpful in certain situations His 25 years with this team is long time, and Mattia from all people should think about it. One is not always aware that he or she is just spinning the wheels, and should move to something else.

Unfortunately this is mixed bag of various issues. Binotto has his faults (as most if us do), but I dare to say one has to differentiate what happened with that PU, and general state where Ferrari is today. It is, and it is not linked to various degrees together. As LdM said the other day, Ferrari was in trouble already in 2014 (and has not recovered yet to required level). I am reasonably sure that Italian media can be merciless towards an individual within their team, Italian or not, as any other news organization. Critique is one thing, lying and applying double standard is however another. They will not burn down theirs beloved team. I say, there is plenty to burn in current F1. I would focus on some books for example which should have pages thorn out. Nobody ever starts from scratch. The deal with Vettel was rather poor show, but that's done and over for me. I am angry too, however time for self-pity is waste of time, I am trying to look forward without feeling necessity for revenge. People are what they are, take ir or leave it. Not everyone can be Hibari Misora.

Red part - where did you get that? I think, in contrast, FiA fulfilled their obligation vis-a-vis Ferrari PU, and dropped the ball elsewhere IMHO. From some other place I learned just yesterday (in relationship to Brexit), how popular is these days to claim in UK, that Brits are very honest and truthful people, but Europeans in contrast are nothing but fraudsters (was the exact term used). Most anti-Ferrari drive has its sources in British media, as far as I can determine on the Internet, so I am not surprised over your post. In this PU case, you chose not to believe Binotto (European), which is your prerogative, however you have not proved, he is not telling the truth. Forgive me, but your response seems to me is emotive, rather than substantive. Known facts suggest, after FiA amended regulations "for clarity" what they think they want, and Ferrari was forced to change PU in compliance to changed rules. Alternatives were really equal opening the proverbial can of - something. It is obvious FiA did not want Ferrari to have upper hand in the engine department, innovative or otherwise. So much should be clear to any unbiased observer. As far as I am aware, others have not changed for compliance with changed regulations. Whilst I cannot say they are allowed to cheat (little bit or cleverly much), unfortunately I cannot also say they are totally compliant with changed regulations either. We simply don't know. The truth is, FiA in their infinite wisdom let them off the hook, and had not examined other PUs with the same rigor. F1 lives in narrow margins between compliance and stretching rules over the line. It was always that way. I can only guess why FiA is behaving as they do regarding Ferrari, however it would be not first time when theirs action was remarkably the same as public sentiment was blowing. BTW, what is fair racing you talk about? It is a foreign concept to me in F1 sphere. Racing in F1 is directed by compliance with a set of rules, and whether those are fair is debatable. I am of opinion they are not, nor they apply to all racing teams equally, because they are not guarded by the same rigor, and there are other examples. Your call for fair racing was missing in 2010 - 2014 when MB was allowed what others did not have. (per BE). Anyhoo, I could be very well done with this subject, since I brought it in I've felt compelled to drib in, but have nothing much more "clever" to say about it, and I am running our of emotions for this year.
