Hi mate, the problem is that these plans don't seem to be explained well enough.
Basically, no one will be unable to afford uni because, unlike in America, we pay fees *after* graduating, as a percentage of our income above £21,000pa. So it doesn't matter how rich/poor your family is, everyone pays back according to their own means.
The amount you can borrow is for living expenses, to cover rent and alcohol, whereas your fees are paid back later so you don...

Haha this is the most interesting thread atm. I think the higher fees will only affect students younger than you, so you'll probably escape by a year.
Even if that's not the case, I agree with Eric. A good degree is worth a lot of money because it can boost your salary for the rest of your life, as well as giving you more choices, interests, experiences etc.
This is even more true in Britain than in the States because here the 'fees' are repaid through ...
