rodders47 2 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 granted the FIA can call on an "engine inspection" at any time. But can any of you guys tell me WHEN or IF such an inspection has been publisied before ? My question is this : Do the FIA inspect the engine of every race winner? If NOT why NOT Is this the FIA (read MAX) trying to GET McLaren AGAIN?
AleHop 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 I have too many questions about that piece of news but if that is true I hope autosport and others answer them. And I don't think they'll find anything wrong in that engine, I am not too sure about the ECU though.
la force supreme des mclaren 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 It's a routine check...............Ham's engine was also checked after monte-carlo.....as was Heikki's,kimi's and Felipe's and other Formula 1 teams.
maure 1 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 Is this the FIA (read MAX) trying to GET McLaren AGAIN? Yes. I find that conspiracy theory a far more rewarding experience. I am not too sure about the ECU though. No one is.
Quiet One 15 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 It is like an antidoping test in any other sport. Every race they do this. Only the paranoid ultra nationalist press could see anything "suspicious". Anyways, as Lewis engine was chekced before, why this time it made the headlines of most websites? - McLaren has a 4 paddle system which was made public this past days. - The FIA checks Hamilton engine like so many times before. I think the press is just scared to death that McLaren is actually cheating. Otherwise, nobody would have ever cared. Curiously enough, besides the press, nobody else seems to worried about these controls or their outcome (nor the other teams, nor the FIA, nor Macca itself)
Grabthaw the Hammerslayer 4 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 It is like an antidoping test in any other sport. Indeed - all it proves is that Ferrari are up sh*t creek without 4 paddles

pabloh20 1 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I guess i have been away too long, but i thought Mike was Shaggy?? When I use 'good one , shaggy' I was only ever referring to the Wayne's World use of it. It was only after I said it to Mike one time, that he mentioned he used to be called Shaggy in school or something On a side note, I've not seen Mike around for ages, I wish he'd frequent this place more often.
