pabloh20 1 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 Of course they did! Here's the trtanscript:Steward 1: Ok, I've been going through Schumi's car acceleration curve and you can see here at 1:29.452 that... Steward 2: Yeah! I got the pill! Watch out Pinky, Blinky, Inky and Sue! Ms.Pacman is back with avengeance mwahahaha! Sorry, what were you saying? S1: Idiot! I've been spending 3 hours with this whole mess of numbers and...left...left...LEFT! No! The other left!!!! Now go through the tunnel! Grab the strawberry. GRAB THE STRAWBERRY! S2: Shut up! I can't concentrate! And pick up that phone! Is driving me crazy! S1 (takes the phone call): Hello? Yes, Monaco race stewards here. Yes, I will accept a collect call from Maranello....Hello? Oh, hi, nice to meet you Mr.Todt. What? A guy named Vito wants to talk with me? Ok....Hello Mr.Vito. No, I don't know were Corleone is located....oh I would love to meet your firends and...oh...uhuh...I see.... S2: Yay! I got an extra life! So, shall we disqualify Schumi for the remainder of the season? S1: Errr...do you know a guy from Corleone? You know, still my favourite quote of that Monoacogate weekend was from Brundle saying 'he's never lost it there before'. Well, no bollocking sh!t sherlock, that is absolutely irrefutable proof that he crashed on purpose then. It's why I know Piquet crashed on purpose last year to help Alonso win, because he'd never lost it there before.

AleHop 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 It's why I know Piquet crashed on purpose last year to help Alonso win, because he'd never lost it there before. Wait, wait, wait... Firstly, it was the first time they raced there and secondly it was Piquet. Piquet's transmission: Engineer: How are things Nelsinho? Piquet: I ****ing told you not to call me Nelsinho while in the race. You know I always end crashing into the wall! You b#####d! Eng: Relax Mr. Piquet, don't crash just yet, Alonso is pitting. Wait a bit. Mr. Piquet are you alright? Piq: I feel a bit better, but I know I'll crash soon... Damn! . . . Eng: Now, right now. Come on Nelsinho do your best! HandyNZL 1 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 Talk about making mountains out of molehills.... The radio transcript clearly states that the TEAM did not instruct Lewis to move over and let Trulli by as they were STILL WAITING on confirmation from the FIA as to if they should or not. Lewis decided to let Trulli past on his own. The race finished not more than three or four minutes later. Lewis gets interviewed very soon after the race...infact so soon his audio was played OVER THE TOP of the podium place getters press conference, in which he said he let Trulli past. McLaren, after most likely finally getting a response from Charlie realise that Lewis should never have let Trulli back past so lodge a protest. The stewards begin their investigation, and Ryan most likely tapped Lewis on the shoulder and said "don't tell them you let him past". Lewis is asked and he says he didn't let Trulli past. Trulli is docked 25secs. This was issued within, what, an hour after the race finishing. Macca tried it on to look like Trulli had well and truly broken the rules, so as to gain a point. It backfired. What team hasn't tried a little something to gain a point? Had they been racing only for first place (listen up Bernie) then they wouldn't have given a s##t - they weren't going to win, so why try something like this? I have seen in may years of watching F1 things far more dangerous, not just to the drivers, but also people in the pitplane, when cars/people/drivers/teams are trying to gain one extra point. It's the name of the game. The punishment isn't merely for "cheating"...simply put they didn't really cheat....it's more for making the FIA look like the d#cks they are in that they don't investigate each protest fully at the time...like Bourdais being penalised at Spa(?) when it was clearer than mud that Massa caused their incident. Is the punsihment fair. Yes, in that they tried it on to alter the final results. Is further punishment needed? No, as the "cheating" only happened in one race, and that should be where it ends. Honda's use of the fuel tank as ballast showed premeditated, engineered cheating...thus its root was deeper than merely something that was instigated on not much more than the spur of the moment. Is there a rotton core at McLaren. No. Especially if you were to take the same comparitive look at all the teams on the grid. Each and everyone of them would sell their own mothers to get further up the grid and get more of the prize money. DOF reckons that F1 has gone downhill since the 70's...which is exactly the time when the sport went from sport to a business (which means money is at stake). There is a cloud hanging over three teams on the grid...Toyota, Williams, and everyones favourite bandwagon to jump on, Brawn. What will you be calling Brawn if the stewards decision is overturned on April 14? Plain and simple, they will have cheated. And their level of cheating will be as deeply rooted, if not further rooted, than that of Honda's fueltank ballast. So what punishment will be dished out then? Being excluded from the first few races? Will that be sufficient? Or should they be excluded from the championship? Where is the balance between an engineered-in form of cheating, and that of a spur of the moment "oh, i think we could gain a point here"? Get some flippin perspective. Macca made a mistake. They've been excluded from the race. Who said what is now irrelevant. Aussie 09 is over. Malaysia 09 is currently underway. Try and enjoy the racing.

maure 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2009 A load of old bollocks blown out of proportion in order for people without a life to have something to talk about. This stuff has happened for years. The media, the internet and the sensation-hungry want blood, it makes me sick. Can't we just go f*cking motor racing? If you want angels, go to heaven. Right. Since it involves Hamilton and it makes him look like... well, what he is...
maure 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2009 If Ryan was the person who instructed Hamilton to do what he did, then I think it's fair enough that he suffers the consequence. He is a senior team member and should know better. If more people in the senior management were involved, and Ryan has been made the 'fall guy' to try and save Lewis' reputation, then that is a great shame; I imagine he would complain, though. I am open to believing either of those two scenarios happened, but we have no way of knowing exactly what happened, we only have Mclaren and Lewis' testimony of what happened, which says that it was he and Ryan who were culpable not the rest of the team. Those two scenarios require Hamilton to be a mindless robot. How about a tad of personal responsibility. Just for kicks.
maure 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2009 Yes, at the very least Dave Ryan was immersed in a culture where there was an unspoken understanding that if you think you can get away with it, then you lie to the stewards. At least to that extent, his lying was approved by his superiors, and there could very easily have been more explicit permission given too. Yep. If they lied for a point, what have they not done for a pole... I wasn't trying to make excuses for Lewis and McLaren, and I wasn't even suggesting people look at their own sporting heroes before lambasting Lewis's dishonest cheating. It just struck me today that Lewis seems to genuinely want to be a role-model, but doesn't see the difficulty with being a ruthless sportsman while trying to teach kids to play fair. It was sad to watch. Sure, Murray. It is time we make a head count of every liar in history and sneak Hamilton in that crowd to see if he really, really stands out. Everytime you guys get caught with the pants down, you do the same thing. A few days back, it was the alleged poor quality of non-English press... as if any of you actually read it. Anyway. The only thing you've got going for you, Murray, is that there remain very few of you who give a fck any more. Hamilton has only lost fans since Monaco 07 (when, for instance, he lost me). The only guys struggling with this anymore are you and 6 other diehards. The rest, we shrug. Nothing new, nothing much, nothing but a passing chuckle or nod,... nothing. maure 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2009 And rightly so. I remember a few forum members (AleHop and maure at least) saying that McLaren could be a bad companion for him in the near future. We were saying that in 2007 and I still think he should mind his own business while McLaren mind theirs. They've unnecesarily put Hamilton in the worst posible situation a public sportsman can be. And don't forget the kind consideration our observations received around here...
