Quiet One 15 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 One thing is for sure: at these podiums you see much more smiles than the tense podiums of the past with the top names. That at least is refreshing (I know, I am desperately hanging on whatever small thing I can to keep my optimism)
Jean Todt 4 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Shouldn't the y also play just half of the anthems? Give them half a bottle of champagne? Another case of FIA's inconsistency with the rules!

AleHop 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Shouldn't the y also play just half of the anthems? Give them half a bottle of champagne? Another case of FIA's inconsistency with the rules! No, they are in fact doing it for cost cutting every race this season.
AleHop 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Lol. But recap the dry laps. Overtaking!!!!! Actually the dry laps were much better than what we had seen during the last few seasons. Maybe something has really improved. We'll see.
Alan333 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Well done Hiedfeld for not switching to inters, I'm surprised more didn't make that call.

Rainmaster 7 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 BBC played a version of that umbrella song. Minus 25 points, I am even considering a race ban for such a transgression. At least it wasn't the worst version of it.
freaky2 1 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Heidfeld has been successful with these calls before too. Good for him ^^
Quiet One 15 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 I have a hunch that Nando will not win the DOD poll for this race...
freaky2 1 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Nor will Kimi or Vettel, but who cares? I'm all for Heidfeld.

TGLeungd Forever 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Good race, but too bad it had to be stopped ... i would of loved a wet race like that aah well ... another race when Ferrari get no points and Lewis Hamilton scores a point!
Alan333 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 D.O.D got to give it to Button particularly for the two laps before his first stop but also for keeping a clear head when it would have been soooo easy to flop.

AleHop 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Nor will Kimi or Vettel, but who cares? I'm all for Heidfeld. I would vote him. He just parked the car and he was all relaxed in slippers and T-Shirt, having an ice cream... While most of them were still in the car.
Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Such a shame they were so strict with that 2hr limit. We waited for an hour and just as the sun comes out they get out of the cars. Perhaps it was too dark by that point, I don't know. Which just confirms that they started the race too late: as my brother says, it's a bit cynical axing the Europeans races, then having the Asian races at dumb times just to keep us happy over here, especially when we waste a good sunday lie in to watch an hour of men with wet bottoms sitting still. Driver of the day was Kimi, for once staying at the circuit long after he'd gotten out of the car. I think Ferrari must bribe him into attending race debriefs with choc ices. We saw more of the drivers' personalities today: Kimi thinking he's on permanent paid holiday, Alonso whining again about the weather and Hamilton staying in the car raring to go! mikathegreat2 2 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 I think Button gets my DOD! His final 2 laps before his 1st pit stop were fantastic, beat the previous fastest lap set by Rubens by 0.9secs, almost exactly 1 second!

You pretend the race at that point was the same for all of them but Kimi and Alonso had their race done while Hamilton was probably the most keen on restarting as he was going to lose some places and would get half the points. Every of them were playing their game.
la force supreme des mclaren 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 Mission accomplished - television coverage shows nothing but stationary cars for 40 minutes and people still watch. Half a medal wooo! Race control was just too stupid to figure out the correct result faster than this, so they pretended to be waiting for a possible re-start. The FIA are trying out a new precedent to alter the results of every race after the checkered flag Brawn.... again f'ed the champagne...lol what an unsatisfying race. Its like being in bed with the girlfriend and being interrupted by the boss phoning and telling you to go to work. Because it was clear that when we started to work on the regulations that there were things that you could do, and we needed to perhaps clean them up, but nobody was interested. They are interested now." priceless massa having a tantrum......... felipe baby - rob smedley is immense Greatest team radio ever! LOL Legard telling us the Universe had not stopped existing RK to spanish TV: at least i'm dry......lol McLaren are just keeping Hamilton away from the the race stewards, incase he tells them its perfect weather for sun bathing Bernie's medal system - sucked 17:00 starting time - sucks BBC mike man:what the hell is that?? a minute and a half before the leaders?? EJ: "you got me there thats's a first". LOL cant they PRETEND they are on the right lap This is a bloody joke. Far more detrimental to F1 than Hammo's alleged lies. Can't believe a sport that spends this much money can't get anything right. The FIA should be hauled before the stewards for causing an avoidable fiasco.... bernie is such a pillock, why oh why in the last year has he only just realised the world has time zones I bet Webber after his racing career will become a politician Maybe any team that doesnt race is bring the sport into disrepute. kimi on vodka ice cream now-iceman!Kimi is recharging his body KERS next video on youtube - kimi falling off a malaysian balcony drunk kimi will be banned for taking on extra weight during the race! Ferrari: "Kimi, we'll give you a coke and ice cream if you hop on the spare car".. DC...Lewis has got a wet bottom...he's a bit moist....lol haha sliding down the hill nice... mudbutt and the fat guy won!!!!!!! Was that kimi on the hill? Complete waste of time. We could all have been eating ice creams 50 minutes ago! The phrase is 'epic fail'
