FIA's punishing McLaren so hard is bringing the sport into disrepute. They should stop this nonsense and move on before everybody leaves. 2) A gross attempt at putting pressure on the judges before the punishment is dealt. "You better give Macca whatever penalty we see fit or else..." Truth, as usual, is probably somewhere in the middle. Grabthaw the Hammerslayer 4 Report post Posted April 26, 2009 TBH I think this smacks more of Mercedes going "ah we have found an easy way to get out of F1" - they, like most of the motor industry are in deep kaka at the moment, gives them a great excuse to walk without creating damaging PR (a la Honda). A threat to McLaren - sort your s##t out, you're making us look bad. A possible escape strategy - if all goes tits up we'll have a convenient, face-saving way out. Shrewd politics really.
