2 True Religions/Gods

Recommended Posts

Read today on BBC that the Jyllands-Posten cartoonist was attacked by a fanatic hothead supposedly protecting the honor of the prophet. However, what made for interesting reading was the fact that a US $1million bounty has been placed on his head. This was pleasing, for it showed one of the truly accepted religions/gods worldwide, that is, money. And strangely, for all the bluster against the evil west, the bounty was in terms of US $ eusa_think.gif

Also a few months back, the shooting at Fort Hood in USA, the media everywhere said the guy acted so in protests against attacks on civilian Muslims in Iraq/Afghanistan. However, tucked away in most reports was the fact that he was single & extremely frustrated by the lack of a female companion. This, in my opinion, was the major contributor to his violent outburst.

So, there we are. Money, sex. Any more universally accepted religions/gods ?

Ah, how can I leave out the dubious Christian missionaries infesting every third world country ('South Park' has attacked them very severely in season 3 episode)? Hmm, "we will bribe you with food, clothes, money, etc in return for you dumping your existing beliefs & converting to our side". So that's another universal religion, namely corruption.

Of those 3, only sex is a true religion for me.

That's the only one I believe in, albeit I have no proof that it exists...:eusa_think:

Well, can't delete '2' from the title, now, can I?

Another example of corruption as manifested thru religion is the way some famous temples in India charge you extra money if you can't be bothered to stand in the queue.

This thread reminds me of the Monty Python Spanish Inquisition sketch. There is one true religion in the world: money. Money and sex, the two true religions in the world. There are two true religions in the world: money and sex. Money sex and corruption: the three true religions in the world. There are three true religions in the world: money, sex, corruption and ...

Oh, South Park must be another God one. If they say the Christian missionaries are bribing people it must be true. All of them, and don't ask about Mother Teresa of Calcuta, or any other. They're all bribers. Period.

****ing idiots!

If you were trying to dipute Jay's positions (amd I must say that his approach was rather...blunt), you couldn't have picked a worse example :P

One didn't have to be a Christian for Mother Teresa to help. You talk a lot of rubbish when it comes to Mclaren or Lewis. Atleast spare some people who have sacrificed their life to help the poorest of poor.

But what does Mario Theissen have to do with all this anyway?

Btw in Abbas's defence, I had to concentrate to figure out what was going on in this thread too.

PS. Andres doesn't like Santa Teresa. Spread it.

PPS. Jay will be fuming when he hears he was rather blunt.

Mario Theissen? I thought it was Mr.T we were talking about! How could you like that bling fetishist?

(Nah, I don't like her at all. She embodied everything that was wrong about the religions' alleged good deeds)

And yes, Jay was rather blunt. Which is a good thing, compared to his average "quite blunt" status

DO NOT EVER EVER EVER QUOTE SOUTH PARK IF YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKING A REMOTELY SERIOUS POINT. PLEASE. IT IS DAMN ANNOYING. The only people worse than people who get their news from Murdoch's empire are people who have learned everything from South Park.

Christian missionaries to be honest are pretty benign and haven't been that bad (relatively) in the last couple of centuries - it's the people who came with them who were worse. Sometimes they hit a nerve and p**s people off, but it's usually the people they p**s off who act more idiotically.

If you were trying to dipute Jay's positions (amd I must say that his approach was rather...blunt), you couldn't have picked a worse example :P

Especially since he mentioned bribing. Mother Teresa (can't we use her name? She wasn't my mother) is an example of the mostly harmless religious fanatic. She ran a cult that possibly did more good than bad, and she was non violent, so I'd rather have people joining her cult than some others.

One didn't have to be a Christian for Mother Teresa to help.

Indeed, she was quite happy to help corrupt thieving hypocritical b#####ds :D

 You might have apoint there.

Mmmh...I disagree. You mentioned Keating. You forgot to mention her approval of "Baby Doc" Duvalier in Haiti (in exchange from a healthy sum in donations from Baby Doc's wife).

As for her doing more good than bad...that is debatable. But it will p**s off more religious persons than I am willing to argue with, and she is thankfully dead so no point in it. I only hope people gets her alleged example to be "friend of the poor and suffering" and not the more accurate description of her personality: "friend of poverty and suffering" which is a subtle, but capital distinction.

I picked her mainly because she's a personality and you all probably have heard about her. I could have picked thousands of anonymous Christian missionaries around the world but there would be no difference. They don't give money, food or clothes in exchange of faith.

The aim of missionaires isn't the same for all of them, but they all have in common that they must follow Jesus teaching and they have to spread God's word. Only doing good to all they achive both things, they don't need to talk about complex theology: God loves you and He wants you to love your brother as yourself.

There are many missionaries working in developed countries too and they help as many people as they can. They help people in need, in poverty, etc. They are friends of poverty and suffering because they live their lives like Jesus. They don't want poverty and suffering for anyone but themselves.

Political correctness says contradictory things. You can attack Christianity, no problem, but be careful if you plan to criticize Islam. I don't think people should criticize religions but I see in Europe a deep fear when it comes to denounce how some muslims mistreat women in European countries.

You can safely paint a caricature of Christ. Some ****ing idiots will laugh out loud.

That's because he is a Joo and they killed jesus and I saw it all on South Park.

People from the two biggest religions in India tend to periodically decide to kill each other. From my limited research she might have helped some people avoid that a bit.

They don't give money, food or clothes in exchange of faith.

lol that is exactly what they do. Better than the ones who give guns though :D they have their agenda, it's just not as onerous as fanatics from some other groups.

I don't think people should criticize religions

Oh you rather killed any point you may have had there. Hypocrisy much?

This thread will have the same lifespan as most of my attempts to leave TF1 did: one day.

Carry on.

Is that prophecy as accurate as your "Everybody will score points apart from Brawn/who cares?" one? :P:lol:
