Quiet One

This decision has the potential to prevent Parris Mullins/Chad Hurley from buying Sauber, which would be something of a shame. It may also prevent Cypher Group and Anderson F1 from entering, whcih wouldn't actually be a shame at all.

Now, the FIA should fine themselves 309,000 Euros for letting this team even have a taste of F1 and call it a day.

That post was boring, here it is again after going through about eight different languages in Google Translator:

Paris Heerlima Springs / Sobe Chad agreed, was how to kite with a preventive potential. Not only can contain zero or prevention of Anderson Group, F1 was a shame really.

Now a porn 309000 Fukushima a good group, F1, or conference call is necessary flavors.

Much better.

School vacation has presumably begun, Eric. Shouldn't someone of your caliber, and with your energy, be off inventing something to save us from ourselves?

It's a shame that eveyone's so concerned with bashing anything American that they don't see what really happened here.

No need to get so defensive Mike. My post wasn't aimed at making fun of "anything American" but making fun of FIA banning a team that is no more. Other than that, the team was really a joke, so expect lots of joking around about USF1. There were lots of jokes about Stefan GP, or Force India, or Super Aguri in their old days. None of them started an international crysis even when some of the jokes were related to their nation of origin.

But, again, this was not the idea of this thread anyways. So in any case, what really happened there? (I'm not being sarcastic, just curious on your take on this)

That's as close as you can get to "what really happened." Ken Anderson deserves the largest amount of blame for it, in my opinion...hence I've been very critical of him.

Cypher Group? Well they're an easy target and I can't take them seriously until they give me even one name of any individual actually in the project. Not telling us who their team principal is frightens me. I realize what they're trying to do (US F1 part deux) and I hope for their sake the FIA ruling doesn't prevent them from trying, but they've shown me nothing to give them a reason to believe in them. That fact they could just change their prospective location from N.C. to Austin so quickly indicates they had made nothing resembling progress in setting the team up. I do appreciate that they said they won't apply if they don't have the funding and all that; at least they're realistic. But they're still kind of silly.

You took what I wrote a bit more serious than I meant it. Consider a ;) at the end of my first sentence and you'll get my intention (maybe I should go back and edit it....).

Pucky the Great White Whale-thingy linked a good article, but here's what always gets underplayed when discussing USF1: They were expecting a budget cap and a certain set of rules to be implemented that never ended up happening. USF1 falls just short of claiming that Mad Max guaranteed these things would be implemented back when USF1 were considering entering (legally, I suppose they couldn't outright finger Max). Anyway, when those two things failed to materialize, so did USF1's sponsorship money.

Now we see the team unable to compete and they're fined a very large amount of money to boot. This smells of a set-up with the only goal being to grab some cash from USF1. I'm unclear on one thing, though: did the FOM/FIA charge USF1 it's customary 40 million (or whatever it is) entry fee? If so, did that ever get returned to USF1?

Don't get me wrong, USF1 shoulders it's share of the blame, but it isn't all their fault. Course, it's more fun to ignore that. Anyway, what's really going on is a money-grab by the FIA towards a rich American. Small wonder F1 doesn't catch on in the States when this is the sort of shenanigans that Americans in F1 are subjected to, eh?

(There *is* an anti-American attitude in F1..to say otherwise is to be willfully ignorant.)

I've never 'bashed' American so frankly a little miffed at your generalised comment.

I have always said I love the go-get-success attitude you guys employ. It inspires me at most times. I wish I was as patriotic to my country as you are to yours. The one thing I find myself to be patriotic about is our boys and girls fighting to keep us safe and allow us the freedom we've become accustomed to and maintain our lifestyle choices. Without them, we would not be watching F1 nevermind talking about it.

Uncle Sam needs to promote more of that go-getter positivity here. We're too cynical. We build them to break them and thats twisted.

We are afraid to celebrate our own successes. Well, no longer. So, did you guys know that my score for my uni course of Occult History and Research is the highest in the country. Thats right. I passed every module at 100% and I aim to do the same next year. That, I'm ****ing proud of.

Edit. The last paragraph.

Occult History? Wow, your fellow student companions at Hogwarts must be really envious of your success!

Just kidding :P That's one huge feat, Steph, way to go!
