of which he was guilty...I mean, who really does believe he did'nt know :P

 You seem to be the only true Alonso hater still around (and my favorite one)! Don't worry, I will keep hating Lewis till the day I die, as well. And, of course, consider Kimi a car killer :P Old traditions must be kept! What would it be of F1 if not for people like you and I? A bunch of guys just saying "Kudos, the best guy won" "Indeed"...

That being said, I hope my theory made you smile. :D

Yes, given that Massa apparently refused to crash in the middle of the straight...I mean, what kind of team mate could be so selfish???

BTW, I am amazed that no one has came up with this before but...have you noticed that right before the race restart at Korea, Nando and Mark were talking and, from Mark's gestures, he was describing a scenario in which a car could crash against one of the walls and then bounce back into the track, that is what the commentators said, at least. Apparently he was just showing how dangerous it was out there...but then he did just that! And who is Mark's manager (and still unoficially a co- manager of Alonso along with Garcia Abad? That's right, good ole Flavio!

Alonso bashers are definitely a little bit rusty if they need one of his fans to point out this conspiracy theory :P

(I can't wait to see it reproduced somewhere else!)

At least Gerhard Berger has mentioned that it's possible Mark wanted to take Alonso or Hamilton with him when he crashed, backing up his claim by noting that it appears like Mark intentionally let his car roll across the track after hitting the wall by not using his brakes. Rosberg was also amazed that Mark did not brake after the crash and thus let his car come across the track and end his race. Maybe there is something to it?

Once we figure out who Flav paid to sabotage Vettel's engine we'll have our conspiracy theory in the bag.

That's an easy one. For his 80th birthday, Bernie received from Horner and Vettel a walker made with an RBR wing and a mock steering wheel with buttons labeled "Pasquale" (for Bernie's assistant), "Lawyer", "Cash Dispenser", "VIAGRA!" etc. There are pictures in some sites showing them giving the present to Bernie and all laughing, but I bet that as soon as Horner and Vettel went away, Bernie made a few calls..."So...Viagra, huh? Let's see who laughs last!"

Yeah, I heard that one. Frankly, my theory is better :P

Just imagine this scenario: you are merrily driving your RBR6 around the Korean track, daydreaming about your WDC and the possibility of changing the Aussie track to the Mark Webber's International Motorsports Track-a-roo when suddenly you lose control of your car. In a split second you go crashing against a wall and in another split second you think:

"Damn! Why, oh, why me, God??? Ok, let's stay calm. Vettel is going to win this one...oh, just to picture Marko's big smile when I get back to the pits to watch Vettel on the podium. I can't take it! Ahh, I know what I'm gonna do. I will just leave the brakes untouched. Let me do some quick calculations...yes! If I have planned it right, I'm going to bounce off the wall, then have my car stuck across the track so when my good friend Nando comes at over 150 kmh he will just hit my car and at least avoid the possibility of him winning the championship and inviting me to the celebrations...I still remember that paella he made in 2006, it was worse than breaking my leg! Of course, there's the possibility that a car crashing me at more than 150kmh will mean a rather painful dead...but then again, Marko, the paella...ok, Death, here I come...AHHHHHHHHHHHH"

FA: "WTF??? This is ridiculous!!...Felipe, you dumbass you were not supposed to crash until we gave you the secret password: "Crash now!". By the way, I must speak with Domenicali about his "secret codes", they are really lame. Wait, that's not Felipe! It's a mud-covered and utterly destroyed Red Bull. Kimi, is that you??? Oh, no! It's Webbo, my good old paella partner! Phewww, that was close!"

NR: "I am going really fast today! I have to, because I need to get out of this awful rain. It's ruining my hair! What? Gott in Himmel! Kimi is back! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Sorry, I can't take that scenario seriously :P

Seems fair to me, Brad!

Rosberg was also amazed that Mark did not brake after the crash and thus let his car come across the track and end his race. Maybe there is something to it?

Now that is interesting, even if you don't buy it yourself. My brother and I thought that when it happened. He was more convinced than me, especially after Martin Brundle said that his tyres coming loose could prevent him braking, but I don't think it's quite as implausible as Andres argues - Andres is our resident anti-conspiracy theorist. :P

Imho Mark had just enough time to realise he was out of the race and a racing driver's instinct is always going to be to take your rivals with you, despite the sport becoming increasingly sanitised (witness the rain delays). Any racing driver worth the name is going to do his best to hit a title rival in that situation, this late in the year. Of course it would require luck to actually hit your title rival, and he got close but hit the wrong car. Mark in particular has a track record of being a "robust" racer. I think that in the heat of the moment, as you're furious with yourself, you'd be more likely to fancy crashing into someone, even if it's dangerous, than you would be if you had time to think about it.

FA: "WTF??? This is ridiculous!!...Felipe, you dumbass you were not supposed to crash until we gave you the secret password: "Crash now!". Vettel certainly did not blow his last engine, I believe he has at least one engine still that has been used in only one race so far, and a few that have been used in two races. Fernando's situation is the worst, as all the engines he has left have been used in at least two races.

That's not accurate, the Monza engine was used only once, is the one that he is going to use in Brazil.

According to

http://www.422race.c...gp-dal-termine/

Alonso used the Monza engine also in Singapore and Japan. Maybe their analysis is wrong (or maybe either they or you is mixing Alonso and Massa)?

According to james Allen, they are sticking to using the Monza engine. I still think that, if I were Domenicali (which I'm not) and I had any confidence in Massa (which I haven't), I would change the engine in Alonso's car, let Massa take pole and and hold the field up behind him to let Alonso gain some places back (you CAN overtake at Interlagos, after all). Massa wins the race, Alonso can still contend for the title and everybody's happy.

That is always better than blowing up the engine at Interlagos and THEN have to endure a penalty at Abu Dhabi. Then again, you need to place your trust in Massa...

If Felipe's going to be generally faster than Fernando anywhere this year, it'll be Brazil.

Let Massa take Pole :clap3:. I am sure that it was simply the team strategy to have Massa start each race so poorly positioned

:P Of course not, but as JHS pointed out, if there's one race in which Massa could shine, that is Interlagos (or Turkey, but we all know how it went for Ferrrari this year there!). What I meant is that...well...you know what I meant! That is why I said "if I had any confidence in Massa"...

On all fairness, despite the fact that Massa is making Luca Badoer look like Schumacher on the F2004, the team is not helping him regain much confidence when everybody is talking about Alonso as if he was the Almighty (which he is, but there's not need to rub that on Felipinho all the time ;))

Do you seriously think that any driver, as crazy as he might be (and Mark Webber is not precisely renowned for being a suicidal driver) passively stay in an uncontrolled car hoping that some other car, in very poor visibility and handling conditions crash on your side at full speed just to take him out? This isn't the same as crashing against a wall on purpose a la Nelsinho, or pushing some driver aside. This is about being hit by a car on your most vulnerable side and closest to your body by an F1 car! If the other moves are generally considered dangerous, this one is simply preposterous. This kind of crashes are one of the most deadly ones even with ultra safe F1 cars of nowadays. Survival instinct takes precedence over winning hunger in this case. Seriously, I doubt anybody would do something like that, no matter how ballsy he might be.

D1CKHEADS of the last few days:

Gerhard Berger: Suggesting Webber drove back onto the track (more or less) to take out Alonso or Lewis. Gee, just because your lil buddy Vettel didn't score any points you're in boo hoo hoo mode. What a D1CKHEAD.

Christian Horner: For not backing Webber now for the title, saying that it's still too early to impose team orders....so the penultimate race is too soon? Would you like to wait till February 2011 to do it....you know, after you've lost the drivers championship? You base your strategy on your opposition having a good day, not a bad one. You base it on you coming first, and them (Alonso in this case) coming second. This means only someone within 14-points has the opportunity to win, and the ONLY person whom meets that criteria is...Webber. You D1ICKHEAD.

Brad man, are u from Mars mate? look everyone has there favourites..yours clearly is Sebastian..he is a good driver..but like Alonso, he was also a good driver when he raced for Manardi and Renault..you cant compare the Quality on the field between the 2, Seb is a few yrs behind because he has only been there less than half the time Alonso has..he has THE BEST CAR..at the moment, how many POLES? how many WINS? experience mate and if u know F1 u will agree with me..GOOD LUCK IN THE NEXT 2 RACES..as my WIzard of F1 says.."the championship is still open"

I think it's impossible for him to regain his confidence until he's actually allowed to win a race by Ferrari, but that probably won't happen as long as Fernando's around...

Mathematically, Vettel's still in a chance. Sure, it's a slim chance, but still a possibility. You've seen how quickly the championship has been turning around lately, you can't really right anybody off, even with two races to go. What if Red Bull did back Webber going into Interlagos, yet he suffered another difficult race and Vettel won? That'd possibly put him ahead of Webber in the championship.

I'm only going to tentatively guess that you want Webber to win the title? :P If he's surely that an amazing driver, can't he win it on alone? I mean, aside from Germany, Massa's not exactly been taking that many points off Alonso's rivals, has he?

Tbh I don't know but I'm not as sure as you are that it wouldn't happen. Berger clearly thinks it did and Rosberg perhaps hinted at it. If you and I sit and think about how nasty it could be then of course we would never do it - whether that's how a racing driver would think in a split second at an emotional time is another question. Considering that I was always afraid to head a football for fear of killing off my brain cells, it's likely I weigh up risks differently to professional sportsmen! I watched a replay of the incident and of course Rosberg's car never got anywhere near Webber's survival cell because the latter basically reversed into the former as he drove past. I appreciate that it would be difficult to time it perfectly, but then again it looks as if Webber looked right, so knew what was happening.

Well, if you are ready to give so much credit to whatever Berger says, I am surprised as it means you surely agree with him on this:

Fernando Alonso can be mentioned in the same breath as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher according to former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger.

Coming from Berger, who was Senna's team-mate and great friend, it is high praise indeed.

"There are sometimes those special drivers: Ayrton Senna was one, Michael Schumacher was one, and Alonso is one," Berger told Austria'a Servus TV.

I'm sure he was comparing their dastardly, underhand and frankly immoral cheating and rule breaking. They sure are special. :P Either that or the fact that they all have the letter S in their surnames - maybe he said "they are all S-special" and something got lost in translation! (I think in Spanish you say especial or something but I'm not really sure so I should stop talking about it before I make an especial burro of myself.)

No seriously, as you know, I've always rated Alonso very highly. I was always one of his biggest fans. That said, if I take Berger's word for one thing, it doesn't necessarily mean I have to agree with him on everything. Not sure if I'm interpreting your post too seriously or not? Anyways, if Berger thinks it possible that some drivers would risk a dangerous collision, I take that as more conclusive than his opinion on how Alonso would compare against Senna, which is something much harder for him to determine.
