2. Fernando Alonso – 101

3. Lewis Hamilton – 100

4. Mark Webber – 97

5. Jenson Button – 87

6. Felipe Massa – 57

14. Nico Hülkenberg – 6

15. Vitantonio Liuzzi – 5

16. Pedro de la Rosa 2

17. Sébastien Buemi - 1

18. Nick Heidfeld – 1

Notable effects in comparison with actual 2010 results:

- Hamilton moves ahead of Webber for P3

- Barrichello and Sutil remain level on points for P10 and P11

- De la Rosa moves ahead of Buemi for P16 and scores more points than Sauber replacement Nick Heidfeld, as opposed to level-pegging

- Alguersuari would not have scored his first F1 points

CONSTRUCTORS’ CHAMPIONSHIP

1. Red Bull-Renault – 201

2. McLaren-Mercedes – 187

3. Ferrari – 158

4. Mercedes GP – 80

- Toro Rosso would score only a single point, equalling its lowest points haul to date (2006 – the team’s first season)

How things would look under the scoring system of 1991-2002:

11. Adrian Sutil – 5

12. Vitaly Petrov – 3

13. Kamui Kobayashi – 1

14. Nico Hülkenberg – 1

15. Vitantonio Liuzzi – 1

Notable effects in comparison with actual 2010 results:

- Only the top nine drivers would move into double figures

- Hamilton would draw level with Webber, although the Australian would retain P3 due to having four races wins to Hamilton’s three

- Barrichello would score more points than Sutil for P10, as opposed to level-pegging

- Petrov would move ahead of Kobayashi for P12, as the Japanese draws level with the points sums of Hülkenberg and Liuzzi

- Buemi, de la Rosa, Heidfeld and Alguersuari would all fail to score

- Sauber would score only a single point

- Toro Rosso would fail to score

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How things would look in the top five of the Drivers' Championship under Bernie Ecclestone’s proposed medals system, which would hand out awards of gold, silver and bronze to podium finishers:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Sebastian Vettel – 5 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze but 3 fourth places

2. Fernando Alonso – 5 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze and 2 fourth places

3. Mark Webber – 4 gold

4. Lewis Hamilton – 3 gold

5. Jenson Button – 2 gold

Yeah, well, uhuh, mmmmmmmm.

To be honest, I just haven't started a thread in a wee while. So heres a thread celebrating all the what ifs of the points system. Personally, I couldn't give a rats....everyone raced to the same points this year, so any what if scenarios are moot and irrelevant.

But it has got my post count up.

And thats numero One-oh priority. Just for the hell of it, I'll double post too :P

Stop copying my double posts. I've already told Shaliq. Now if you don't, I'll be forced to kill you by reprogramming your brain to accept that its ok to eat piranha fish.

What if that, huh? :lol::P
