It's not happened yet, so I'm not sure how much it's going to hurt. But I have a fairly good idea. I can't therefore get excited about the new season in the way I like to. I don't know whether to moderate that remark or not I have to admit, with utter shame, that I have gone the whole hog and added a Sky F1 HD subscription to my long list of two-faced twat behaviour. For the first time since I started watching F1, I won't be able to see the first race live. That's quite a depressing thought for me. I liked getting up at some early hour in the morning to watch the Aus GP. Of course, I'm not going to leave F1 completely. I'm still a big fan...it's just that I can't really get excited for the start of the season the way things are now. This has been the first year I can remember I haven't been madly counting down the days till the start of the season. I'm not getting Sky because it costs a lot of money, and I'd basically only be watching F1. Most the time through the summer and winter breaks I wouldn't be watching it at all. For that cost, I'd rather get to more races in person. I'm not making some special trip to pubs to watch it, because I'd rather watch it from the comfort of my own home, and besides, good luck finding a pub in this country that will show F1 on a day there's footbore. I'm not getting my hopes up of finding some illegal online stream either, because it isn't worth the hassle and chances are there won't be one anyway. I'll still follow it as much as I can, but I probably won't become as "involved" in post race discussions and stuff this year. For that, you lot should be eternally grateful. Looks like I'll be skipping the NASCAR race. I'm excited. I just have a feeling this season will be of interest. Something big is going to happen and it's going to be enjoyable. And we're almost there! Just one week in between, which is alright because SPEED is showing the V8 Supercars from this weekend and there's always NASCAR, and then F1 and ALMS kick off the same weekend.
