Emmcee 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2016 the way things are going, you might as well pull names out a hat to line up the grid, it's pathetic.
Sakae 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2016 The original idea was to create optics (illusion), that there is competition in F1. It was intended as anti Mercedes measure with hope that some other names might pop up at the sharp point of the grid if Merc will screw up. Funny story - race one, and despite all hoopla, the same cars were parking on the same spots on the grid as they were last year. So, what was achieved..? (I read somewhere this initiative was actually initiated at the request of race promoters).
Emmcee 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2016 Yeah but even if it did skittle the grid, by the second or third race, front running teams would figure out a strategy and end up at the front anyway.
