rodders47 2 Report post Posted July 10, 2016 Track limitations?????? When are these so called OFFICIALS EVER going to live by their word and disqualify any driver that exceeds the track limit ??? Answer when it bloody suits them. Hamilton put 4 wheels over the white line on a corner during his qualy run that the officials never mentioned in the corners they were policing. OK BUT it did not SLOW down Hamilton by going outside the track limits because he got POLE ???? All of this OFFICIAL policing of rules and regulations is plain and uter BULLs##tTTTTT................... He beats his teammate by 0.3 seconds...they throw out his time...so he goes back out and beats his teammate by 0.3 seconds again !!! The guy is up to 55 poles now. Ruslan 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2016 Emcee....agree that Verstappen was pushing it to the limit all the time. Rosberg looked in cruise mode. Anyhow, great races from Hamilton and Verstappen. Vettel certainly had a poor race. I think the interteam competition between DR and Verstappen is about to get really interesting. Stewards were correct to give Rosberg a 10 second penalty. Ruslan 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2016 Well, whether you agree with the rule about radio silence or not....the rule is currently no coaching the driver. Clearly Mercedes deliberately and calculatingly broke the rule, because it they did not Rosberg would have lost second (and maybe more). Therefore, in all fairness, they had to impose at least a 5 or 10 second penalty. I mean everyone else has been racing under that rule without violating it. Could not make an exception for Rosberg, especially as breaking the rule it clearly allowed him to hold on to a position. It is getting ridiculous that they do this as standard procedure the minute there is any rain before the start. Bring back the traditional view on wet weather driving - simply get on with it. Are we going to see more accidents - yes, but that's part of it. We look back at drivers in the past and comment that they were wet weather specialists (Senna, Schumacher, Alesi). I don't think we can do that with this generation of drivers as we'll never see them race in wet conditions. It will always be intermediate tyre conditions at worst. Frustrates the hell out of me. But it didn't last long as the commentators said that they were going to start the race behind the SC... why? as a general rule starting a race in the wet behind the SC makes it more dangerous, not the other way round, as both tyres and brakes won't be at their proper working temperature when the SC is withdrawn. So once they start a race behind the SC they need to wait until the water has gone otherwise there would be carnage at the first corner. Also they can't change the set up for a wet track and as a consequence they are all running with very low cars that in turn become prone to aquaplaning even with little rain on the track. This IMHO highlights all that is wrong with F1 these days. But it's not over, because we also have rules that provide for sanctions when certain actions are performaned but there is no rule for the penalties to be imposed. They are a sad bunch of amateurs and as soon as Bernie and Charlie and all their associates go the better. Hamilton - he drove well, it could have been tough for him starting from the grid as he doesn't seem much good at starting but IMHO on a drying track he clearly showed why he has more natural talent than Nico. Even though with the track dry Rosberg IMHO had the upper hand Vestrappen - he drov very well with the drying track, pulled a stunning move on Rosberg, was very consistent and not always very clean on his moves. I am not convinced yet that in terms of talent he's up there with the likes of Hamilton but he is very fast, he's learning quick, makes few mistakes and seems to be able to keep his cool. IMHO he has already toppled Ricciardo as the lead driver at RBR Rosberg - I felt sorry for him when the SC let them loose, he was in real trouble, it took him a few laps to regain his focus. On the dry he was IMHO the fastest out there, the problem for him is that as soon as there is anything that slightly changes the racing conditions he really struggles before being able to adapt. I felt sorry for him behind Verstappen, he was quicker and could have tried to catch Hamilton but he knows that if he makes something wrong he gets punished (unlike Hamilton and to a lesser extent Verstappen) Ricciardo - I'm sure that the VSC had a very negative impact on his overall performance but that is not the point, he quite simply didn't have what it takes to keep up with the big boys Raikkonen - he did a reasonable job yesterday, scored some decent points, nothing to write home about but not too shabby either, whihc seems what we have come to expect of him these days. Having said that at times he looked to be really struggling Perez - he was mighty impressive with a damp track but his car was not great Hulkenberg - he seems to have waken up of recent, good for him Sainz - very entertaining, he certainly knows what he has to do and I love to watch him race, I hope that he finds a better car Vettel - poor Vettel, 3rd time unlucky with the gearbox in 2 races... it was impossible to do much better with that car in those consditions, at least he tried, the penalty for going wide while attacking Massa is beyond contempt.His biggest problem is that while 5th place seems to be ok for Raikkonen, he tries (too hard) to be with the Mercs and so he's under a lot of pressure and this can lead to mistakes (especially with a very unbalanced car as the one that he had underneath him yesterday). I think that he (and the top brass at Ferrari) needs to adapt his expectations to what the car can deliver Alonso - great to see him in a fighting spirit again, pity in the end he wasn't very lucky Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
