Vettel start behaviour

I think he should get race ban for this.

This isn't first time he pushes other divers to cause a crash.

His spatial awareness isn't so great.

what he did was far less radical than what any other driver starting from pole has done in recent months, he moved to close a gap: the only difference was that since today it was wet he took a far less aggressive approach. Furthermore Verstappen didn't change direction and he didn't hit Vettel, how is that squeezing another driver?

Max hit the brakes, cause he was aware of situation being squeezed by vettel. It was too late cause he caught kimis rear tyre.

1. Vettel defended his position as starter. It's his perogative as the lead driver off the start

2. He could'nt possible been aware of the great start of Kimi. Unfortunately MadMax decided NOT TO LIFT and yield to Kimi passing him, which triggered the squeeze. Must Vettel be able to smell this!!

3. Its been classified a RACING INCIDENT!

Please be more concerned about the state of the championship than just finding the negatives, or the constant barraging of certain.drivers. Im really getting sick of this!

Its been a really great championship between 2 great drivers up to now, lets hope it continues!!!

He should get a race ban.

Ferrari would be walking this Championship if they had Max or Alonso under contract. Vettel has been a disgrace this year.

And then of course... we get comments like this. Its no wonder the quality if debate has gone down in recent years

This isnt first time he went banzai to one side to close doors on rivals without looking who is there.

Totally his mistake.

"quality if debate"

Are you honestly going to defend Vettel today? His driving was moronic.

In relationship to start of the race, Vettel has not made contact with anyone, and as a lead driver on the grid, he was free to take any line he wanted, and so he did. It was hard piece of defensive driving on his part, but all legal, within rules, and not so unusual. What followed behind him is a racing accident. It is not what anyone wanted (not sure about Hamilton though), but that's what happened. Next race cannot come soon enough. As people say, on side lines we are entitled to our own opinion, but we are not entitled to our own version of facts.

Yeah he's allowed to chop across the track dangerously.

Face it the little rat took himself and others out today.

It's been an average Championship battle between a very good driver in Hamilton and an average driver in Vettel.

no he didn't, he said that he couldn't hit the brakes because his front wheels were in front of Kimi's rear wheels (he would have been thrown into the air)

Ok, he lift the throtle

what Vettel did yesterday was very different from what he did at the Japanese GP in 2011, in Japan he aimed at Button, yesterday all he did was cover his line, and furthermore he did that taking it very easdy because of the rain. What happened at Spa in 2016 was Verstappen's fault, suggesting that it was either Vettel's or Raikkonen's fault mean that you assume that the car in front is not allowed to turn into a corner because some hopeful driver coming from behind mind try a silly move and however silly such move he should be granted the racing line and the position

He closed that corner in spa , although he had enough room on left side.

Amateurish.

what was to the left of Vettel at Spa was not the track, it's the road that takes you to the village of Spa

Besides even Hamilton had to admit that Vettel could not have seen Verstappen yesterday  you should try to sit in a single seater when you get a chance, things looks very different from a tv set

He may not deserve a race ban for it, but it was obviously a dumb maneuver whether or not it was an illegal one.

He had a compromised get away so Kimi only needed a decent start to be even with him by the first corner. Just watch where his head is at during the thing. First at his steering wheel, and then looking left. I have no doubt in my mind he could see Max, though he obviously missed Kimi. And then he just aimed for the end of the pit wall.

could you please expand that and explain us the mechanics of Vettel seeing what cars behind him were doing. I don't want to sound pedantic but either Vettel has eyes on the back and on the sides of his head, always assuming that he shares the power to see through with Superman, or I struggle to see how you suggest that he could see were Max was... do you think that he could see him through his mirrors? Why don't we say that he could hear Max and that, combined with experience, gave him a rough idea of what was happening, but that is the point, all he could have was a rough idea, not the complete picture

Ongoing open season on Vettel's character and his racing record, all presented in very peculiar way, is not exactly "new thing". Naked hatred of him is bursting at the seams, overlapping frame of a civil discourse one would expect in civil society. Forum is usually noticeably quiet, dwelling suspended - one could say - almost in self-inflicted comma, when Vettel does well, however after a such weekend past, all over sudden zombies wake up, spewing personal bloated bias for all to know. Lesson learnt, anyone expecting on the forum decency, stability in fair judgement, competence and assurance will be greatly disappointed. Meanwhile, Alonso was "sure", he would have made to podium, and Hamilton has out of body experience, when Senna talks to him. That's great. New normal.

In first sentence you could write Alonso instead of Vettel. ;)
