Eric Boullier expecting McLaren race win in 2018

Recommended Posts

It IS about time, somebody from Mclaren became assertive.
After the (disastrous) years with Honda. Just hoping for the best,
which never materialised.
Finally somebody, at Mclaren HAS set a target. Every race weekend, everybody does their
BEST,  with NO clear objective.
A race win IS achievable.
I did not appreciate that, Red Bull WILL be running the same PU, for the 2018 season - at least.
I am aware that Red Bull ARE desperately trying to dump Renault.
Having run with Tag Heur branded PU, as a solution.
With another supplier lined up for 2019.
The Mclaren-Honda chasis were regarded as 1 of the best on the grid.
Now with Honda moving to Torro Rosso.

I would lower the expectation if I were Eric B.

He hasn't even installed the engine or tested and he's dreaming a race win already LOL.:naughty: Complete Joke !

He obviously just wanna keep his damn job. He'll get laid off once his expectations goes to the pooper :bangin:

Remember William`s Renaults of the 90`s with Nige.
Ok LOTS of toys NOW not available TC ... Designed by Newey
Renault WON with finger boy Vettel at Red Bull also designed by Newey.
Renault HAS what it takes.
Mclaren HAD Newey,  so HIS influence would have rubbed off
onto the design guy`s.
The Mclaren Honda chassis WERE regarded high.
It COULD just happen, if EVERYTHING falls into place,
and the other cars fall off the track!! lol

The Renault-Nissan Alliance continues its strong showing that made it the world’s largest automaker by half time 2017. As of July, and according to data supplied by the automakers, the Alliance remains in the number one position, before Toyota, and last year’s number one Volkswagen.

Mclaren Renault on the way to World DOMINANCE !! lol
Honda who ?? lol !!

McLaren cannot do worse next season... but wins?

Well, RBR has scored one this year with a Renault engine so McLaren cannot say that is not their objective. Perhaps they might.

Whatever happens, though, at least there should be more "action" on track, if nothing else.

The last (or first) issue is the brutal lack of real competition nowadays. If Mercedes or Ferrari fail to deliver a supercar next year, it will be over for them. We've seen their drivers fail on many, many occasions seasons past... even with supercars. Take their toys away and, well, there is the record.
