Was'nt Vettel also in Hamilton's slipstream...or close in it

Yes, he was, but Hamilton is not driving for Ferrari, needless to say, but I can understand Kimi's mood at this point of his career. What I fear is not lost of P1 for Vettel on Saturday, but what can happen after lights go off on Sunday. If Kimi will decide to block Vettel at any cost, Hamilton will stream through, because Kimi will leave that lane wide open for MB to pass by. Vettel can get consequently into pretty big mess having cars streaming around him. Race and WDC could get lost right there.

On the other hand, Kimi sometimes is not the fastest starter, so we will see what will happen. Hamilton has already declared to media that he counts on slipstreaming to lead on first lap, or at least overtake Vettel. Their calculations are probably the same I have done.

I too want Kimi to win this year, but that would be nice after Vettel secured sufficient lead in WDC run, which Ferrari also wants. To be honest, based on stats, Kimi's run for WDC this year is not realistic anymore. MB meanwhile is ready to issue inter-team orders for Bottas to support Hamilton after Monza.

Thanks Kimi:

Quote

Raikkonen bolted across the track to defend the lead at the start, with Vettel tucking into his tow and then attempting a pass around the outside into the first chicane before bailing out.

On the approach to the Roggia chicane, Hamilton picked up a slipstream from Vettel and dived to the outside. Vettel was baulked by Raikkonen, allowing Hamilton to move alongside the Ferrari. The Mercedes driver got his nose in front as they entered the corner, but Vettel stayed side by side with the silver car. They touched, with Vettel spinning and dropping to the back of the field.

...but why fighting with a teammate and allow for opening to Hamilton? This is very first time in decade if not longer, when Kimi really p****d me off. Sorry.

What are u suggesting Sakae? If Kimi was to hand over his position "meekly", imagine the outcry.

Vettel is p**spoor at racing wheel to wheel. Another load of points he's thrown away. What a waste of a great car.

Ah. There you are. Expected it btw. Was nowhere when Vettel won last race

Kimi on the opening lap drove as he should've, without any question...period. That early dual between Kimi and Lewis on lap 3 or 4, was really an exciting exchange between those two front runners, which the likes of that hasn't been seen for a long time...….good stuff !!

Excellent performance for Hamilton today, by passing Vettel at the very start of the race, and patiently reeling Kimi in during the later stage for a well managed, and deserved win.

What was there to say? It was an easy win for him.

Vettel is perfect in every way according to you and Sakae. You are two sad and strange little men. You act like bullied school children.

Meekly or not, we do not have to imagine anything to hear real outcry after the race. He has achieved nothing but charred land with that rather poor and shortsighted (selfish?) strategy decision of his which surprised not only his team but mostly his teammate.

MB consequently is in fame and on their way of big money payback under Christmas tree. Add Bottas's support for #44, and Ferrari got really black eye last weekend, Vettel of course bearing most of that brunt. I think that driver inter-relationship suffered crack. How deep remains to be seen.

Ok, cards on the table up front, although not a FanBoy, I do like Hamilton and would prefer him to get his 5th title ahead of Vettel. Was never a big fan of SV during his RB days, however, he has mellowed over the years and comes across as far less arrogant than he used to imho.

As for Monza, I was surprised that he won given that it is a power track and with the Ferraris the fastest car at the moment, with a front row lock out, I thought the best Hamilton would get barring any incidents, would be a podium, most likely 3rd, but even the haters have to give the man credit for the way he raced!!

Bottas showed what a good team mate he is by delaying Kimi forcing him to take life out of his tyres for 6 laps, allowing LH to reel Kimi in for the win. People have criticised these tactics, but they have been widely used many times in the past, especially by the Red team...Schui/Irvine, Schui/Barrichello, Alonso/Massa etc. Bottas was around 0.3 seconds slower than LH all weekend, so was a no brainier that he would help if needed.

My main complaint was the behaviour of MV, who after collecting a justified 5 second penalty, then stuck two fingers up at his team, and the whole RB workforce by conceding not one, but two places through his petulant behaviour of refusing to allow Bottas past, and in th process allowing SV to close in and also jump MV with the time penalty. Hopefully Christian Horner, and Helmut Marko will have read him the riot act after the race behind closed doors.

ok...that’s my two pence worth of opinion..happy racing guys n gals 👍👍😊

Can you guys get a room please 😁😁

Nice to meet you Billy200uk...under these circumstances...

In a nutshell...

VicVenom is a guy that use to troll here frequently as Webric. He's upset that Vettel has beaten his hero Webber for 4 consecutive seasons to the WDC. He then changed his alias, pretending to support MadMax and comes on when Vettel has had "misfortunes" and spew his venom and hate... Its entertaining... but real Psycho stuff.

Wrong. I have no idea who Webric is. I always considered Webber average.

I understand that you have aspergers syndrome, but please don't bulls##t.

GP247

Photo display says all. Direction of Kimi's car is giving Hamilton free pass. Smoking tires show how hard he wanted to accomplish the block.

I know Kimi has many friends, and I was among them for a decade or longer, but why he has done it to his friend at this stage of the season, I am not sure. There are some F1 able drivers sitting on sidelines. They should finish the season next to Vettel (bar Kubica). Kvyat could be one of them,

RBR is also considering to remove DR for secrecy pertaining to 2019 car development.
