Better to say McLaren almost 2 seconds off best Renault powered car, also Williams 3 seconds off best Mercedes powered car and Hass 2 seconds off best Ferrari powered car.

I'm no fan of Alonso, but I doubt any other driver could have done any better in the McLaren.

With the Honda being over 2 seconds off pole, perhaps Red Bull may have some concerns about next season.

 

As for the race itself - the high altitude and thin are may prove a little testing for the turbos. Possible engine failures tomorrow.
