lipstick79 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 It`s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, this early for RedBull Honda. The Honda package so far is out pacing the Renault. Maybe Mclaren will rue, handing OVER the works Honda. Obviously time will tell, though the important thing for Mclaren WERE to keep Alonso happy. Even though now, he is pursuing other things away from F1 - motorsports treble crown. The marketing possibilities available for Mclaren will, arguably be better than a fizzy drink !! Alonso IS still in the Mclaren family, to keep Sainz on his toes !!

lipstick79 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2019 I`m NOT impressed by Honda either. Though looking at the development cycle. Honda are relatively new AGAIN. They HAVE made the podium with their NEW works partner - Torro Rosso Redbull Mclaren STILL haven`t made the podium since Mclaren Mercedes The Renault is at the end of it`s development cycle. Where as Honda is once again at the beginning, with a new partner. The guys in Woking (Mclaren) WILL have to scratch their heads AGAIN.

lipstick79 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2019 Lets NOT forget Brawn GP were the old Honda team Before Brawn GP and Button went on to win. Things DO turn around in F1. Mercedes have bought Brawn GP since. So technically from Honda came the mighty Mercedes !!!

lipstick79 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2019 Whatever type of job they have done, amazing or NOT. The end result has NOT been a cheap one !!! Honda like Red Bull HAS thrown money at F1, so people CAN see their brand and buy a fizzy drink. Red Bull started it with the Renault partnership. Honda want to be seen it F1, but the Mclaren Honda project did NOT work out. Red Bull saw the potential money, and did not waste the opportunity for people to see a fizzy drink

That means its a good deal for all. And that's all the matters for now...

Red Bull Renault were a LOT more successful without the HUGE expenditure Red Bull Honda NOW HAVE to B successful

Moreover, I also think it has taken little longer than otherwise was possible due to restrictive nature of F1 on rate of development. (Lord knows I hate that with passion.) Moreover, I also think it has taken little longer than otherwise was possible due to restrictive nature of F1 on rate of development. (Lord knows I hate that with passion.) Otherwise possible because, DIFFERENT era`s. Honda are NOW in the hybrid era, and NEW before they partnered with Red Bull (and before that Mclaren). The restrictions - it is NOTHING new. Mercedes R the champion`s of BOTH era`s. Champion`s with Brawn in the V8 era. Successfully becoming champion`s AGAIN, in the turbo hybrid era. It seems to me that, Honda will probably catch up more later than sooner. But whist Honda are, catching up what are the others doin? Ferrari are also advancing. Then in the background with less resources, Renault will always B competition. Renault were successful in the V8 era. Doin a good, respectable job in the turbo hybrid era. The Renault has never been ultimately quick in any era`s, just reliable. The power of Renault has always been to utilise the chassis, and use THAT for the speed gains. You have got to be in it, to win it.
