It DID turn out 2 B a good move by Mclaren in droppin works Honda for customer Renault. 
In the short term at least.  Good 4 Mclaren anyway.  Could that B a catalyst 4 Renault - now 2 B WITHOUT a customer team ?
How WILL Renault react, when the covID-19 issues settle and we finally START the 2020 season?
Will they have a product WITH reliability & speed, just 2 show Mclaren what they walkin away from?

Renault needs to on PU side catch rest of them, regardless what McLaren thinks about it. That would be probably first objective. Second one, I suggest, have a little pride, and find a new driver immediately who would partner Ocon, and actually appreciate he is in F1, and has a job as a driver, instead listening to that constant whining in that seat how great it would be elsewhere.

Obviously Mclaren AGREES.  Hence the switch 2 customer Mercedes

Well it was Mercedes, then Honda followed by Renault and now Mercedes again. Do you see pattern with this team?

Previously when with Mercedes they were the unofficial works team.
Before Mercedes U R also forgettin the Glory Honda years with Senna and Prost.
Less said about the Mclaren Peugeot , the better
