Interest - Will RP recover its pride?

I do not expect any miracles in red camp, whereas  Renault, Honda and MB - as usual. No surprises in dying moments of this season.

I lost interest in F1 after Hamilton blackmailed it into getting political. I was already losing interest when the teams continued to deny an obvious preferential treatment to some drivers. Mind you, I understand some preferences will always be there, but at least do not insult our intelligence by denying it.

Very good.

In comparison, while I have not lost interest in F1 per se, yet there is number of issues which do rise my blood pressure up into the danger zone, and my focus is consequently increasingly selective and narrower, combining merely some technical performance aspects, sport business, and life on and around track of fewer and fewer drivers. Most of "popular" names aren't among them. Excessive hypocrisy and  shenanigan plays pours cold water on my enthusiasm, which is why personalities like Kimi, Seb, Hulk and another two or three names are all what's left for me.

Well said. I follow Alfa Romeo mostly because of Orlen/Kubica involvement, but I always liked Kimi. I like Sed and Hulk. I despise Verstappen, although in terms of talent he is likely the best driver this year. Hamilton is where he is only because of Mercedes and shameless promotion by F1. Otherwise, he would be nowhere where he is now.

I expect Hamilton first yawn, and ask FiA if he really has to do that, and then pull ahead (of course by 0,5 sec as machines setting probably tells him).

or

Maybe not. Not this time on this track, despite it might be just one-off.

So, is it Verstappen, or is it RB? Do you remember Vettel and claims it was all car? Regardless if one believed it or not, claims were made, just as it was in Schumacher era. Vettel, Schumacher, Verstappen - all had/have however competition to cope with.

One more - if Vettel would be talking about Turkish track in terms Hamilton does, I think internet would explode. It only confirms my suspicion, that many, if not most of the so called "fair fans" just exercising double standard, as they always were. Chinese flexible law. One for you, and different one for me. When Vettel goes off, it's his ERROR, for others, it's just slippery track. One for you, and different one for me.

Looks like Stroll has recovered from COVID (or whatever that was) quite nicely.  That's what rain can do to you. Max must be saying things which we cannot probably repeat in here.

Interesting qualifying. Refreshing to not see Mercs on pole, although they may be back on top if it's a dry race.

Good to see Lance on pole. He has done a fair job so far in his career to discard any notion of sitting on a seat made only out of money. Can't say that about Latifi unfortunately.

Racing Point, wow! This team can really throw surprises every once in a while. They are indeed very good at setting up a car they can build under their available budget. And I can't say THAT about Ferrari. Come to think of it, Ferrari is the pay driver amongst the other teams who are doing it on merritt. 😐.

Max.. did a swell job himself.. I see him winning this one honestly.

Turkish GP qualifying, who would have thought. Turkish sweets anyone?? 😉

Interesting result.. Ive only seen the last 8 laps so far, probably will watch the whole thing tomorrow..

Apart from all my biased views towards Merc and their dominance, I don't disregard the brilliance that Lewis Hamilton is behind the wheel. Congratulations to him on this momentous achievement.

I somehow have more respect for Micheal today, and what he achieved back then.

Happy to see vettel on the podium. Just the news of leaving Ferrari is bringing back the confidence he seemed to have lost for a year or two.

Ferrari fvcking up Vettel's pitstop... again! after doing it in the past multiple times. They aren't even hiding their dislike for him at they. You know what you often see when other team have a pitstop to forget? Passion! You see the Red Bull guys getting angry at themselves, or checking the wheel gun etc. The Ferrari guys... totally blank. It's like they have some fresh hot pasta to run back to into the garage to eat. I can't wait for next year to see them go nowhere seeing as how they have already announced they have thrown in the towel and will focus on 2022. Clever by Binotto. Buys him another year in charge, with an "excuse" to insulate him from criticism.

Great drive by Vettel.

Bottas is a joke. Total an utter amatuer..... BUT WHERE WAS THE HECKLING AND CRITICISM? Imagine if that as Vettel... the amount of hate would be deafening. But Bottas is only in that seat because his manager is... oh I don't know, Wolff! Ridiculous. He's good enough to score points and stupid enough to believe the lies he's on "equal" footing as Hamilton. It worked a treat for Rubens and Massa lol.

The Merc does not like cold or rainy conditions. It wasn't until it was clear that Hamilton wasn't going to stop for a second pitstop that I would agree he drove well. But beforehand he was nowhere.

Spare a thought for the RP boys in particular Stroll. I wonder if he thought he had it in the bag early on. Her certainly started to freak out in the c#ckpit. But great drive by Perez, I think he's shown he's definitely good enough to stick around in F1.

GPBlog - Post-race: Seb, the philosopher

Quote

Vettel not happy with journalist

In the press conference, Vettel is asked whether, despite this difficult season, he is still able to show his qualities as the driver who has won four world titles in the past. "Well I’m a bit shocked by the way you phrased your question there. I don’t think… well, F1 is a very fast living world," he says.

"We drive the fastest cars to you always get judged by your last race. I’ve said that we had a difficult season, there’s been moments where certainly I haven’t been at the top of my game but I don’t doubt that I can do a good job in the car and don’t feel that anything has changed, so bit surprised. But thank you," concludes Vettel.

Well said. Interestingly enough, Seb didn't make any friends in Verstappen's family, when he has predicted, that Leclerc will be go further than Max 10 years down the road. Some "journalists" didn't like it either, when they said that Seb is trumpeting his teammate...which I take is rather not very polite characterization. My own thoughts on Max vs. Leclerc is rather dormant. For some reason my heart doesn't race as it used to.

I agree with Seb. I think if Ferrari can get back up, Leclerc will be a force to reckon. Don't underestimate Max tho, it will be where he finds  himself methinks. Good prospects for the future of F1, in terms of driver rivalry

At this point, the only way up for Max is for Hamilton to retire. Then I think you'll see Merc move in for the signing. And his Dad being a right prat, any so called loyalty to Red Bull will be thrown out the Window. I think Max and his Dad are both hot heads, so we'll see how the future plays out in the next few years.

Leclerc definitely has the speed, but not yet the temperament. Same with Max. It's no co-incidence that Vettel during this wet race, and Kimi in the previous performed pretty amazing in average cars. Experience really does matter.

I haven't warmed to Leclerc and to be honest I don't think I ever will. I just see this picture and think he's a total petulant diva. This is only my personal view but there's something about this guy that rubs me the wrong way big time. And I look forward to him losing his s##t at Ferrari in the years to come. They each deserve each other until the marriage implodes!

He is bit petulant I agree, and I will never really fully support him as a driver.

But he does have the speed, I think Sauber TP has stated he has the speed of a young Kimi.

Sebastian Vettel Jokes: Maybe We Should Leave Binotto At Home Again

The four-time World Champion made the joke after taking his first podium of the season.

Let's do that.

Ferrari's pitstop for Vettel... what a travesty. Binotto still "running" the team from afar.

Can anyone recall Leclerc having a bad pitstop like that in the 2 years he's been at Ferrari? Or being ignored when he want's a particular set of tyres?
