Seb Vettel stated the weight of the new cars is an issue to be addressed. “The car moves very slowly in slow corners, almost like a truck. It’s because the weight is too much. But they are too fast in high-speed corners. Driving. Really fun,” said the Aston Martin driver.

Media found a new darling. Hamilton seems obsolete (since yesterday), and whatever I read, it's nothing but Lando Norris, Lando, Lando, Lando...

Oh well, that's life.

Day 2, early stages. Hamilton felt lonely and neglected, so he visited his old friend on a score board.

There's a notable difference between Stroll and Sainz in current first place, this early in testing. The difference in tyre compound can't be 2 secs between a C3 (Sainz) to C2 (Stroll), The gap is HUGE.

I hope AM is sandbagging and running high fuel loads

What would be a reason for AM to undertake such (sandbagging) strategy? What I mean is, even if AM would have winning design (which I doubt), others cannot copy it. For that is too late. Seb said that his car feels like a truck. (Car is too heavy). That's not a design he was traditionally successful with.

I would have to look for it (perused far too many pages this morning ans lost track). That truck remark was car behaviour in turns. I forgot the number, but car weight is some 40 [kg] or more heavier than last year. That however I think is with all of them.

Yes, I thought it might be....

I also think Seb will handle these cars better than Stroll

Unfortunately I care only whether Seb is standing on a podium, or below it. Seb the other day said something similar. He is in the F1 only for one reason, to win. (I understand as not to beat his teammate).

Under Andrea Seidl's leadership the car so bizarrely painted seems to have a fighting chance. I think only Alpine has uglier paint.

Where did you got that? Someone (i think Sky and/or Liberty) blocked all direct reporting from the testing site. I have to accept secondary sources.

Regarding Vettel, this is hard for me to understand this situation.

Looks like C2 tire seems slow for most on that list.

I'm starting to think they (AM) are really running high fuel loads...

"The Race

17:27:09

Gary Anderson from trackside

Watching from the braking zone just before Turn 1 the Alfa, Aston and AlphaTauri all look OK. The Mercedes and the Ferrari too. The Alpine's a bit bouncy, nothing like what I have seen in the past.

Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri had the DRS open, but all the others were closed."

"After 47 laps of consistent but unspectacular times, Vettel has popped in a 1m20.784s on the C3s to go fourth overall for Aston Martin."

Sebi jumped.

Told ya.

Car does have some speed. Difficult to tell with it being so early in testing. Hope it's not glory runs.. but seems consistent with other teams
