Based on observation of testing, within next a few days days all teams will be busy preparing for qualification and a race. I gather however that McLaren and MB might be busiest from them all.

McLaren has issues with brakes, and in addition they will have one driver after Covid.

MB might have several equipment issues, and two complaining drivers. If Toto thought end of last season was bad, he better get ready on what is waiting for him.

Potential beneficiaries from MB misfortune: Ferrari and RBR. Alpine might from attrition rate. I am not so sure McLaren will go full distance.

Gasly will be there somewhere...

Revision on my early prediction of qualifications result:

- Vettel P8

Race

- Verstappen (winner)

- Sainz

- McLaren

- Vettel P9

Eggs on my face would be sad ending.

The previous 10 winners of the Bahrain Grand Prix are:

2021 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
2020 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
2019 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
2018 – Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari)
2017 – Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari)
2016 – Nico Rosberg (Mercedes)
2015 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
2014 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
2013 – Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)
2012 – Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)

Record suggests that winner of the race at Bahrain usually comes from good position of the grid. Bitterly disillusioned, but now repaired, Hamilton will not win this race. Seb, well, he drives AM.

Y R U limitin it 2 JUST Bahrain ??
ALL race winners usually come from a good startin position.
Gone R the days of pushin the car, 2 ensure cross the finish line.
Saturday IS where the real work IS.
Sunday then just becomes a formality.

Superficialities aside, (above) statistical record has been posted for comparison with results of forthcoming race. It is my understanding, that principal reason for introducing technical changes in regulations is to remove or decrease aero-disturbances, and facilitate overtaking in a race. Shaking up grid under race conditions should eliminate preconceptions I have received in both responses. We will see in a few days whether the goal behind novel changes was achieved.

Agreed. Stats paint a picture. Unless there are revolutionary abnomoliea, take Haas 2022 for instance

Daniel Ricciardo has provided some negative covid tests, so he's free to race this weekend. That's good news for him and McLaren, but of course he missed out on some of the testing so he's going to be slightly on the back foot.

Depends how U look at it - is a negative covid test that good of a thing?
The pressure on him 2 perform has now INCREASED.
He could have had a break 2 work on his fitness, work on his racin strategies, 2 basically regroup.
Mclaren would have had the chance 2 look at another driver, for future reference.
Everythin is now ON Danny 2 perform 2 his best.
Lando IS the only winner.  Lando WILL have 2 B on form.  Lando WILL want 2 out race Danny - so he WILL up his game.
Danny WILL B pushin Lando.  Lando`s reputation WILL increase further.

Sebastian tested for COVID, and therefore will miss first race.

See, I told you that I didn't like how close to Ricciardo he was standing in those pictures last week. :(  He wasn't the only one either, so were Bottas, Russell and Sainz.......

I mean it's good news for Hulkenberg, not good news for Seb fans.

Is Sebastian quarantined in Bahrain for next two weeks? The thing is, Seb might be excluded from second race as well. Saudi race is only 7 days later after the first one.

From what I just read, Seb is already at home in Switzerland and isolating there.  Hopefully he'll be okay.

After testing positive for Covid-19 Sebastian Vettel is isolating in his home in Switzerland right now. We hear he's doing all right.

I think this prediction of ureswould have been correct.

Remember, they switched VERY EARLY last year to concentrate on this season. It won't be as bad as last season, but they have work to do. Hope Mr Stroll did not interfere again
