Remember, they switched VERY EARLY last year to concentrate on this season. It won't be as bad as last season, but they have work to do.

I didn't forget that.

Hope Mr Stroll did not interfere again

He will, don't worry that he would forget.

What teams said after P2:

L. Stroll will talk about anything and anybody, but his prospects. I guess there is (not well) hidden disappointment about something. Maybe it's a car performance and his ability to make something of it. I guess we have to wait for Seb, but I continue to feel it will be for a while struggle for AM to make Q3. Maybe it's good Seb is just watching, saved from humiliation. Let's hope there will be some adjustments from a race to race.

Schedule was probably developed by people who do think very much differently than I do.

  1. Major change on specs of equipment.
  2. Minimal and inadequate track testing.
  3. There is limited budget for people working in timely manner on new developments based on copious data acquisition on the track.
  4. After second test just a week later first race on location very much at the distance from home base.
  5. To add insult to the injury, second race is just a week later after the first one.

So, what teams can fix under such conditions? My head is hurting just to think about that. Fans are really robbed of good racing. In times like these I really want BE back.

D/T 2022.03.19 13:47 UTC

9 24 Zhou Guanyu ALFA ROMEO FERRARI 1:33.880 +1.336s 17
10 18 Lance Stroll ASTON MARTIN ARAMCO MERCEDES 1:33.920 +1.376s 13

I know, it's only FP3, however I find posted stats rather alarming. Zhou is  half world away from comfort of his home and culture, commencing his first season, driving for Alfa (ignored by British media) and AM is slotting behind him. Seb must be scratching his head seeing that.

You mean just like AM in 2020?

I am not sure how much Alfa or Haas could predict last year Ferrari success in 2022, for them to shadow the design. Ferrari is known to fail badly, so it was risk to copy them blindly. AM in contrast copied a successful design. That was something else.

Haas - oh my gosh. After Q2 he is where I was hoping to see Seb.

AlphaTauri is far behind its sister company.

Q3:

Quote
  • 5  Lewis HAMILTON+0.680 soft-new.png 5
  • 6  Valtteri BOTTAS+1.002 soft-new.png 5
  • 7  Kevin MAGNUSSEN-- soft-new.png 4
  • 8  Fernando ALONSO+1.637 soft-new.png 5
  • 9  George RUSSELL+1.658 soft-new.png 5
  •

Kevin whipped wonder boy Russell. I think that's great.

I am hoping Seb will be in better physical condition than DR is.

I've predicted correctly podium, however in different sequence.

Has Bottas forgot he is not driving for MB anymore and he didn't have to stay behind #44?

Wow. Ferrari played it smart this time. They went against their norm and had the higher fuel loads. Also, they did produce a Superfast engine. A look at their customer teams progress confirms this. Congrats!

They'll be in the cross-hairs of a determined MadMax. I believe theRBR car is still the best in race-trim. And with teammates Sainz and Perez so close behind. Expect a humdinger!

Mouth-watering😍

Guessing Quali is one thing, but I am totally lost in the bush over McLaren. It is more that certain, they are not going to make podium in this race. (I hade one of them in 3rd position).

As a Mclaren fan - flip the coin.
DON`T have 2 start the race on tyres that set fastest lap 4 qually.
All is NOT lost.  It does appear Mercedes HAVE lost their edge/lead on the PU.
The "fish-ing" does NOT appear 2 B a problem 4 anybody as it were first expected.
Verstappen and RedBull don`t appear 2 have "really clicked" 4 this season - early observation.

I respectfully disagree.
The obvious RACE strategy IS 2 go LONG.
4 Max 2 win, he WILL have 2 do the undercut.
Max NEEDS 2 pull out B fast off the line build up a lead.  Then pit early.
4 OUTSIDE the top 5/6 - Go LONG.
Alonso`s AIM should B LONG - 2 get good points 4 Alpine

When Kevin returned, he received some attitude in "expert" media and on forums. Look at him now. Who would have expected this kind of result just a few days ago.
Yeah I know, race is tomorrow, but Haas crowd can be happy today.

It IS all about Marketin.
Haas and K-Mag NEED 2 B seen - SUDDENLY they appear - they R seen  coincidentally.  JUST when they NEED 2 B.
It IS like some sort of script.
