Sato? Pass Of The Season In Bahrain!!!!

Recommended Posts

As you can see from my sig, I'm neither sato nor Jenson Fan, but this what I read in Planet F1, and I think I should give credit where it is due

Overtaking Move of the Race

Takuma Sato, BAR-Honda, 11th to 9th

Unseen directly by the cameras (you caught a glimpse of it in the background) Taku came steaming up from 11th place and overtook both Jenson Button and Pedro de la Rosa in one sweet move into Turn 1 on Lap 2. Had it been caught by the front-on camera it could have been the pass of the season. Someone ought to dig out the footage and show it next race.

It is a shame it wasn't seen from a good angle, but you do see it in the background, and looks like a good move.

All you see is sato outbrake 2 drivers, including his teammate, and make it stick, the cameras are more focused on alonso and MS.

This overtaking move has been credited also by the italian F.1 magazine Autosprint....it should have been very exciting to watch..I reckon Sato has showed he hasn't lost his attitude and he has showed it in Bahrain despite the poor car he is driving at the moment...

I'm on Sato's boat here, just caught the move in the corner of my eye, not a good angle, but enough to see the class of the move.

It is a shame that no-one really saw it. So unfortunately I still think Sato's not very good! I thought he got past JB cos JB had to brake hard to avoid Fisichella

Well congratulations to Sato, he has made a few good overtaking moves in his time. However the website that saw the move and brought it to our attentions still thinks JB did a better job over the whole weekend if you look at their team mate comparisons. Against one good move he was outqualified and didn't manage his ailing car as well (according to their independent panel of journalists). In fact they thought this move may have contributed to his problems. Also are you absolutely sure the cars in front weren't held up battling amongst themselves because JB said he made a mistake and at least two cars past him about that time? I'm not taking anything away from Sato but its pretty difficult to outbrake two people at once if they're just driving their normal line. Finally just shows that the coverage still needs improving since they didn't show any replays of this.

Sato makes 1 decent overtaking move (apparently, although I don't believe a word of it), and its like a bloody revelation, the Sato followers are thrilled and milking it!! Button however made a whole load of overtaking moves last year, he also got the overtaking manoeuvre of the year award!!

In every respect, Jenson is a much better driver than Sato. I never saw this one suggested move but it was probably as a result of Jenson conserving his brakes and making a mistake. As Murray said,

god, get over yourselfs...

first of all to jemstride, milking it? monty started the thread, a non jb or sato fan, the only thing was i said as a joke Sato showed Button how its done, and all of a sudden theres a line of 50 Sato basher in here trying to prove how bad sato is and how good button is.

and to Senna, Pedro and Jenson were scraping, you can see pedro have a semi move into the last turn and sato is right behind ready to pounce, and does so.

But obviously the Sato followers over-exaggerate and clearly making use of the fact that almost no-one actually saw this amazing move

What, im the only Sato fan who has said anything in this thread about the move, and i haven't seen anyone else mention it elsewhere. It sounds and looks like a good move from what u can tell, and he has done others in the past, but i hardly milked it.

Im sure Jenson will make a stunning move in Imola, and show Sato how it is done ;)

I agree with most of your post but Sato probably was able to make such a pass because of Jenson having a near incident with Pedro, not Jenson conserving his brakes.

It must have been a terrible move by Pedro to result in the car behind him passing both of them. This doesn't surprise me though.

I'm guessing that Sato's move was more a result of Pedro's reckless overtaking than Sato's skills. I mean, if Pedro comes steaming up the inside in an out of control, fashion as he did numerous times in the race, it's not hard to imagine Jenson getting shuffled to the outside to avoid a collision and the pair of them losing several tenths and allowing Sato through. I think, if we had a clear view it would be a lot less impressive.

How to be a spoilt prat? I think the reason Sato doesn't moan in public is because he knows people will look at him and think "who the hell are you to demand a better car???"

Well Jensons still a nobody really, whens the last time he won a race?

As for Bajo's De La Rosa steamingup the inside, you can see that is not the case from the footage that was seen live. Sato goes up the inside of the pair of them, pedro was the widest one out there.
