3246251196 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 i am not a driver at all so i ask: "L'epingle" - the hairpin at Gilles Villeneuve: when drivers approach this tight turn do they quickly change their braking bias setting so that B_Bias is toward the rear to avoid lock up here? i mean, its a tight braking turn right. i dont know at all - just curious ? bajo39 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 surely someone drives here. or knows some theory :S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you set the bias towards the rear for this corner you would induce, not prevent, lockup of the rear tyres. When a car brakes, weight is transferred to the front from the rear. With less weight on the rears there is less grip and less ability to apply braking to the wheels. If anything you would want to turn the bias towards the front for this corner. I've sat at this corner numerous times and have never seen the drivers take their hands off the wheels to adjust bias.
