I'm honoured!

This is really just a few of my favourite things - things that are associated with good memories...

Everything Murray Walker ever said.

Arturo Merzario bothering to turn up on a Sunday

The Arrows A2

Jordan's first win

The Monza Gorilla taking the chequered flag for his only win

Silverstone

James Hunt

Ken Tyrell

Loads more to come, I'm on a roll now!

Ha Ha! The Brabham BT46B! Watching Lauda and Watson going deliberately slowly and still annihilating the rest of the field at Anderstorp. :clap3:

A doff of my cap to you Monza Gorilla (and Pumpdoc and Kennye as well). One is well advised to appreciate those around you with a greater depth of understanding and experience, and you obviously have that in spades.

Funny.

I just have a hard time remembering dates

My #1 is Mario Andretti winning the WDC in '78 or was it '79?

God who could forget the 'fan' cars..............

Thank you, Jay. I do have a tendency to live in the past, though!

It was 1978, Pumpdoc, in the Lotus 79. I always get the 2 mixed up.

I was around back then, but only a little gaffer at the time. Stuck out in the Canadian prairies with no F1 coverage to speak of.

Oh what I would give to have those memories........

I've often thought that about my great grandparents - how good it would be to have those memories, but it would just be a form of voyeurism to have the memories but not the experience that goes with them.

They told me stories when I was a child, and now I have my own memories, based on what they told me of theirs. I'm rambling. Someone tell me to stop.

Sorry my memory is limited of things I actually witnessed to fairly recently, as it was the 1997 season I started watching regularly.... but;

Alonso winning the 2005 WDC :king:

Schumacher winning the title in 2000

Japan 1998 and 1999 - for the fights between Hakkinen and Schumacher and Irvine respectively and japan 2005 for so many reasons, despite Kimi winning and JPM retiring early.

San Marino 2005 - Schumacher VS Alonso livened up the season after a relatively dull start.

The first Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang in 1999.

Some classic moments of the modern era (post-Senna/Prost) I think.

I have so many fond memories of the past F1 greats but these are the ones that stand out for me...

Suzuka 1994 - Hill winning that thrilling wet race. "THREE POINT THREE SECONDS" wailed Murray Walker.

Suzuka 1996 - Hill winning the championship!

Spa 1998 - THE best race I've EVER seen

Indianapolis 2003 - Button leads his first race. :D

Brazil 2003 - The SECOND best race I've EVER seen

Brazil 2005 - Alonso becomes the youngest ever world champion

I'm sure, I've missed out some other great moments but it'd take forever to post!

Hi babe!

Maybe I am biased, but Silverstone 1992, Hockenheim 2000, Suzuka 96.

My my, monza gorilla, that's a mighty list!

Well quite a few of mine revolve around Jacques - shock, horror! :o:lol:

JV's '96 Melbourne Weekend

JV's first win - Nurburgring '96

Estoril '96 and JV's pass on M$ at the outside of the Parabolica

1997 Aust GP Quali - JV brains the field by over 2 seconds and his teammate by 1.7 secs

Jerez '97 - for obvious reasons

Hockenheim '98 - JV challenges the might McLaren's

Canada 2000 - fighting with the big boys until the rain came

Austria 2000 - last to 4th by JV

Spain 2001 - JV getting BAR's first podium

Austria 2002 - JV charging through the grid on an aggressive strategy

Friday Quali @ Melbourne 2003 - JV P3 after little track time

JV's return in 2004

I'll be back with my non-JV ones during the week!

 I surprise myself sometimes. Admittedly there probably won't be as many seeing as how I really only became fixed on F1 when JV came in, but before that I was a Senna fan, so there'll be a few of his.

My favourate moments in F1.

-Senna winning his first Championship in 1988

-Senna winning his second championship in 1990 & at the same time getting sweet revenge on Prost for what happened the season before.

-Sitting in Ricardo Patresi's Williams F1 at a test session in 1991

-Watching my first Live Gp at Kyalami in 1992.

-Senna's Victory at Donington Park in 1993... Pure class!

-Jacques vs Michael in Jerez in 1997

-Alonso (my favourate driver since Senna) winning his first World Championship in 2005.

Now I really envy you!

I got to sit in James Hunt's McLaren in 1977 - it was on display on the forecourt of a local garage. They made no effort to clean it or protect it from the weather, and it was absolutely filthy!
