Senna 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 MF1 set to confirm Monteiro Monteiro - Albers lineup expected Monteiro has already tested in MF1 colours MF1 Racing has made the most obvious indication yet that Tiago Monteiro is the team's second race driver for the 2006 season. Team owner Midland Group's head of communications, Ron Fine, said on Tuesday that the Silverstone based squad would finally let the cat out of the bag later in January. He told us: "An official statement regarding Tiago's position with the team will be made this month." The Midland official was responding to press speculation that - with the 2006 FIA entry list already naming Portugal-born Monteiro to partner Christijan Albers - an official MF1 announcement would not be made. "As Tiago drove for the team in 2005, with an option for 2006," Fine continued, "an announcement is not considered necessary."
