YHR 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 To be honest, I'm not suprised at all with BMW, I thought this is what would happen but everyone doubted me. That maybe Babe, but aren't they doing just a little bit better then you thought? Not everyone was doubting you. I too thought they would best Williams. I thought they would be best of the midpack, but they actually are starting to look like they might be able to step into the top quarter.

YHR 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 Nice presentation of the data. BMW does in fact look positioned very well for this years contest. JV and NH should have some good results this year, if this testing trend is an indicative comparison of the teams. I can't wait for the season to begin. For NH and JV fans this will be a real test of their drivers skills. They don't have the best package, so the results that they earn will come from their ability as well as the strategy and execution employeed by the team. Seems like we have a lot to look forward too. Senna 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 JB LOOKS TO CRUCIAL BAHRAIN TEST ITV Jenson Button believes that next week's hot weather test in Bahrain will play a crucial part in his 2006 campaign. Honda, along with Ferrari and Scuderia Toro Rosso, will participate in the four-day test, which takes place with just four weeks prior to the first race of the Formula 1 season at the Arab state's Sakhir circuit. Button and team-mate Rubens Barrichello have been impressed with the pace and reliability of the new RA106 chassis, but the Englishman reckons the true test of the car will come in the desert heat. Senna 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 STR 'making progress' says Speed PF1 Scott Speed completed 79 laps for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team on Friday in Jerez after team mate Tonio Liuzzi had completed his testing session on the Thursday. The Jerez course was damp when the American headed out but Speed is happy that the car, and the team, managed it well and improved throughout the day. "The car tended to oversteer, but we worked on the problem and by the end of the day, we had it improved," Speed said. "We also did a long run at the end, and that went smoothly. It was our best run of the day, which shows we are making progress." While all other teams in F1 will be running V8 engines this year Scuderia Toro Rosso will be running a restricted version of the V10
Jenson_Rules 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 Test team gears up for Bahrain Since last month's introduction of the latest RA106 at Barcelona, the Honda Racing F1 Team has been busy putting the new car through its paces in Spain. Despite winter sunshine and largely dry track conditions, the temperatures have been chilly on the Iberian peninsula - quite unlike the conditions expected in the opening three Grands Prix of the season that take place in the heat of Bahrain, Malaysia and Australia. To prepare for those races, the team is now leaving Spain for an important test in the warmer climate of the Bahrain International Circuit, venue of the season's opening race in four weeks time. "We've just completed another positive test at Jerez and we are now looking forward to next week's four-day test in Bahrain where we can fully evaluate the latest tyre developments from Michelin in realistic conditions and start our real preparations for the opening races,

narain fan 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2006 if they do test at Imola then, their schedule will look somewhat like this week starting 12/2-Barcelona WEEK STARTING 19/2 Imola ????? week starting 26/2-Valencia whether Bmw are going to Imola or not is not yet confirmed, but the test is going to happen next week.according to this tororosso press release Toro Rosso Bahrain test notes 2006-02-13 Racing series F1 Date 2006-02-13 Apart from the obvious benefits of testing at the track that hosts this year's curtain raiser grand prix, in terms of establishing optimum car set-up and tyre choice, the trip to Sakhir has provided the team with its first taste of summer-style weather. With an air temperature of 23 and the track passing the 30 degree mark, Scott Speed spent the morning working on general set-up, looking at elements such as ride height and aero balance. "The car ran well and it has been very useful to evaluate downforce levels and work out what level to use in the race," commented Chief Engineer, Laurent Mekies. In the afternoon, Scott embarked on a simulated race distance, including "live" pit stop with full fuel rig use. "Considering that we have several new guys on the team, who have not worked together before, the pit stop went well," continued Mekies. "Unfortunately, Scott was unable to complete the race distance as the session was red flagged when another car stopped on track. We are using the RB1 here because there was no time to get the STR 1 here after its inaugural test in Jerez last week. STR 1 will be testing again in Imola next week." Tomorrow, it's Tonio Liuzzi's turn to tackle the desert track. Car: RB 1 Driver: Scott Speed Laps: 82 Best time: 1:34.280 -tororosso-

narain fan 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2006 F1 Testing a Global Phenomena F1's first ever winter test in Bahrain kicked off on Monday, with Ferrari, Honda and Toro Rosso in action in warm weather. In a V10-engined 2004 Ferrari, Luca Badoer headed the field of five. With Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello set to get running on Tuesday, Anthony Davidson and James Rossiter steered the two 2006 Hondas, ahead of Felipe Massa in the Ferrari 248 and Toro Rosso's Scott Speed, last. Speed, meanwhile, demonstrated one pitfall of quickly moving from Europe to an offshore test track -- his team did not have time to ship the new 'STR01' car to the Gulf, so is making do with last year's Red Bull. With just a month until the real grand prix action commences at the very same Sakhir circuit, every formula one team will this week be at work around the world. On Tuesday, Valencia (Spain) gets into gear, with McLaren, Williams, Renault and MF1 to appear. BMW Sauber is to go solo at Barcelona, while Toyota run a brand new bodywork package at Vallelunga (Italy), and Super Aguri make their 'shake down' debut somewhere else paddocktalk.com "somewhere" is silverstone, according to "another website"
